I am very impressed by the Induro CM24 monopod. I bought it as a lightweight alternative to my Manfrotto 680B with 3232 Monopod head and Kirk Arca clamp for hiking with my Canon 100-400L. I mounted a Giottos MH-1303 ballhead on it with a tiny Kirk Arca clamp adapter, which fits perfectly on the ballhead platform, and the whole set-up weighs in at 1.25 pounds (about 1/2 the 680B plus 3232). The weight is perfect, but what surprised me is the fit and finish of the tubes, which rival my Gitzo 3231, and the leg locks which I actually prefer to the Gitzo. I am also impressed by the useful nylon belt sheath, which makes it easy to carry the monopod around or stow it temporarily while changing lenses on the camera. The CM24 is very rigid, even when fully extended, and I'm am very comfortable even leaning on it a little to steady the 100-400. After using this monopod for a week I'm planning to sell the Manfrotto and 3232.

seemed very stable fully extended. I did not like the head as was smaller than the base of a RRS heavy duty monopod head and the lock screw for the head was inaccessible with the strap arrangement. Called induro and was told not to use the lock screw if it was inaccessible as it was not really necessary? which begged the question of why then advertise it as a feature and put it there in the first place. I exchanged for gitzo 3551.

      Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

I use this mono with my Nikon D3s and a 70-200 lens...and it provides a very stable platform, and is considerably lighter than my older mono. I also love the large turn screws which are a breeze to operate. A great product at a great price!

Far better than my prior cheap monopod. Supports strong pressure to assist steadiness. Stiff column without vibration. Locks are smooth to operate. Tall enough to angle forward and still have camera at eye level. Very light. Attractive appearance.

          Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

This is a great monopod. I have used Induro tripods for some time and needed a new monopod for use with my Canon 600MM and 300mm F2.8 lens. This monopod is light but very strong. It handles the above lens without any problems and feels like it would easily handle even more weight. I have it paired with a home build tipping head and use it mostly for wildlife photography. It would also work great for sports photographers.

              Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

The Induro CM24 monopod is all I had hoped for: lightweight, solid, easy to use and easily holds my camera and 400mm lens. Paired with a BHL1 ballhead, it's perfect for hiking and wildlife photography. Best of all, it's under 20 inches long when retracted and easy to put into my pack or suitcase for trips.

Thanks to the B&H staff for recommending Induro. Their stuff is rugged, well-made and affordable.

Light as a feather. The screw locks are as strong as you want, meaning they will bear more weight the more you tighten them. For normal use a light twist should be sufficient. I use mine mainly as a walking stick for hiking (I don't like using two trekking poles, and I want something that is stronger and more easily adjustable). As such, I sometimes put a LOT of weight on it, like when using it as a brace when descending a steep grade. Some monopod joints just will not lock tight enough, but with this one I just have to crank the locks a little tighter and they hold way more than the rated weight. Never feels like the locks are going to jam either. Because I use it for hiking I'm also concerned about wearing down the tip. I found that a hard rubber 3/4 inch (19mm) foot available in the furniture pad section of any hardware store fits very securely. As far as photographic use, I prefer a lightweight 0 series Gitzo tripod for landscapes (especially stitched panos) when hiking. When I need a monopod (primarily for event video) I prefer my Monostat with the nice stable big foot and ball joint.

                      Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

My wife wanted a monopod for her new Nikon 7100 camera set up. I originally purchased a hiking pole with a camera mount, but upon receiving it realized it would never support the weight of a DSLR. Back it went, and we started looking at monopods that one could also hike with. I liked some of the Vanguard models, but ultimately, I wanted something with a simple foot design (not a pivoting foot) to provide a reliable grip during hiking. This monopod is very sturdy, even fully extended, and is very stable. It's just light enough to consider hiking with for several miles - even though the aluminum version is not a lot heavier, I think it would be much more tiring over a couple of hours of hiking. And, it packs up to a nice size, will easily fit in a carry on, or strap to our new Golla pack. Overall, great product, looking forward to many years of use.

Bought this monopod to use with a DSLR and it has exceeded my expectations. It's stable, strong and the leg locks are fairly quick and secure. I've added a Manfrotto 234RC tilt head with RC2 quick release that maintains standardization among my quick release plates. While I prefer to handhold my camera, after an hour with my 300mm lens I appreciate the support this monopod provides. And when I'm not using the monopod, it's either in the included belt-mounted holster at my waist or on my LowePro Flipside 200 backpack. For storage, I keep the monopod and mounted head in a Acebil S-1 case.

                            Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

I use monopods mostly for sports shooting. The Manfrotto I had used for years was just too heavy so I went for the Induro. And I am very happy with it. It opens easily and collapses just as easily. It supports my Nikon D3 with a Nikkor 70-200 and a 2x teleconverter, a VERY heavy combination, and makes panning very fast and stable. It's also a bit more compact as well. I only would wish that they provided a better belt holder, perhaps something like a carpenter's hammer holder.

                              Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

I use this primarily to support an off-camera flash with lightbox held by an assistant. It is sturdy, smooth-operating, and feels more like a Gitzo than anything else. When collapsed it fits perfectly inside of a Pelican 1510 case with my other lighting equipment. I love this thing!

                                Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

Since this is my first monopod, I don't have a a comparison for this review. This pod is very solid, yet does not weigh much at all. My tripod head is actually heavier than the monopod!

Because of how solid it is, it has a very sturdy feel. It is very easy to open/close and adjust the height if you are sitting or standing.

This monopod can not only be used as a stabilizer for a camera but as way to get your speedlights off camera. You can attach the speedlight on it and have your assistant hold the light and modifier in the correct position for t he shot! This is very light and yet sturdy thanks to the awesome carbon fiber which it's made of.

                                    Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

Amazingly well constructed for the price. Was quite pleased. About the same weight as a cheap, thin aluminum monopod I have yet much stronger and easier to use. If it holds up (and I have no reason to assume it won't) this is a bargain.

                                      Comments about Induro CM24 Carbon 8X CM-Series 4-Section Monopod:

seemed very stable fully extended.
