The INDURO GHBA Gimbal Head is ideal for photography involving long, heavy telephoto lenses--in sports or nature photography, for instance. Working with a long lens on a standard ballhead or tilt head can be a real struggle, distracting you from the photography. The gimbal head makes the camera and lens seem almost weightless, with vertical and horizontal tracking of moving objects becoming relatively simple--a feat not possible with any other support system. An Arca-Swiss-compatible quick-release plate is included. Fits Arca-Swiss-compatible QR clamp on a heavy-duty ballhead.

Gravity-balanced operation provides essentially "weightless" movement and positioning for long lens/camera systems
Arca-Swiss-compatible quick-release interchangeable industry standard QR system

Bought this for a canon 500/4 IS. Sturdy product but the "Universal" lens plate that came with it did not fit the tripod foot of my 500. Called Induro to ask for an exchange. Rep was only interested in selling the full gimbal. No resolution. Exchanged it for a wimberly Sidekick.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

A practical alternative to a full gimbal head. Allows me to use my current ball-head without having to remove it every time I want to use my Tamron 150-600 mm. Well made and panning is very smooth. The BIG advantage over a higher priced similar model is that the Induro GHBA comes with a quick release plate. I would of given it five stars except I could not read the serial number label so I could register it online for and extra 5-years added to the warranty.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

This is a very well made product and I'm overall very pleasaed with it. I wish it was about 1 inch taller so I could get a steeper angle when using my D700 with a battery grip. The grip hits the ballhead which limit the angle that can be achieved, so needs to be removed to take photos of subjects up high. Regardless, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought the GHBA Gimbal Head to use with a Sigma 150-500. I use it with a Giotto's MH-1300 ballhead. I have quick release plates for the Giotto's head on both my cameras so all I have to do is remove the GHBA and put my camera on the ballhead if I want to use a shorter lens. I used this head on a trip to photograph migrating Sandhill Cranes and was very satisfied with it. It works just like I'd hoped.

I use this with a Benro Ball Head B3. This is the best versatile combination to own. No swopping of heads - just add the gimbal when needed. Works out of the box - Just add to ball head.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

I will be using the GHBA Gimbal Head for nature photography with Canon 300 f/2.8 with and w/o extenders. Currently I use it with a 400 f/4. Man, that is nice and smooth- easy following, like it is weightless. The only thing (and I was aware) as others have mentioned since the mount is vertical not horizontal (sitting on the shoe) there is risk in mount and dismount. Just get familiar and take it slow, especially on mounting. I love how with a ball head I can carry one tripod for all types of situations out in the field.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

I mount this sidekick on a Gitzo 3541LS with Arca-Swiss Z1 head. My longest lens is a 400 f5.6L on a 7D and with this light setup I couldn't justify the full gimbal head. With the included long plate it can be balanced easily and makes the tracking effortless. Great build quality and also great value - compared to the Wimbeley Sidekick since this one is cheaper and includes a mounting plate. I am very happy with it, highly recommended.

I am currently using this gimbal head with my RRS B55 ball head. I purchased it to use with my Nikon 70-200 with a Nikon TC 20Elll teleconverter to shoot wild life. It is a great size and easy to travel with, my only comment is that it is a little ackward to attach lens due to the fact the the bracket is on vertical instead of horizontal. That being said I would recommend this product.

I have just had this product for a couple of weeks now. But it is great. Much easier to use a long lens than on a ball head. It works as advertised. I use this on a RRS BH40 head to support a Canon 400 DO lens with a 20D body. It works wonderfully. Very smooth. Once balanced panning and tilting is essentially effortless.

Great, no need to change heads. Haven't used enough to comment on the clamp durability but seems strong enough for my 200-400mm.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

Bought this for a canon 500/4 IS. Sturdy product but the "Universal" lens plate that came with it did not fit the tripod foot of my 500. Called Induro to ask for an exchange. Rep was only interested in selling the full gimbal. No resolution. Exchanged it for a wimberly Sidekick.
