Product Highlights
  • 31" Ballistic Nylon Bag
  • Thermoform Padded Interior
  • Zipper Extends the Entire Length
  • Attached Shoulder Strap

The Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag (Black) is a padded ballistic nylon bag designed to carry Bogen/Manfrotto tripod with a head up to 31" long. Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It also serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when it is carried. The zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. The end opening allows for faster "quiver" style extraction and insertion of the tripod. The bag is tapered to follow the shape of the tripod and head.

The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it's easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly. The bag includes a shoulder strap.

  • Ballistic nylon
  • Thermoform padded Interior
  • Full length zipper
Tapered shape allows you to store the tripod with the head attached. Tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it is easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly
Zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag, making it easier to get your tripod in and out, as well as being able to extract the tripod quickly
Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when carrying
Bag is slightly tapered to provide a better fit for a tripod with the head attached. The wider end of the bag accommodates the head without requiring all levers to be removed

I bought this along with my 055CXPRO3 legs and MH055M0-RC4 head. This combination comes very close to not fitting the 31" bag. Like, you have to loosen the ball head and tilt it to the side in order for it to fit. Some may like this tight of a fit, but I would have rather had the 35" bag. This did not affect my rating, due to it being my own fault for not measuring before purchasing.Everything about the bag screams, "Top-notch quality". The materials used, the feel, and even the looks of the bag are amazing. I especially like the red zipper lining. I somehow misplaced my previous tripod and (all black) bag and I truly believe that may have been prevented, had my previous bag had a red zipper lining. One thing this bag is missing that my other, much less expensive, Manfrotto bag had is a small, exterior pocket. I used to just store my quick-release plate and a quarter (to loosen/tighten the plate) in the pocket, but now those will have to go elsewhere. This would've dropped the rating only half a star, but I can't do that, so I just rounded up and kept it at 5.Very, VERY nice bag! Highly recommended.

This has been designed for Manfrotto tripods. I use it with my 190XB tripod and a 802RC4 pan/tilt head. It is padded to protect the tripod. However, it does not stand very well. Moreover, the zipper are very hard to use, they get stuck a lot. A little pricey overall.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

This was bought to fit a Manfrotto 057 3-section tripod w/a RRS BH-40 head.

Simply, the fit is perfect (not too tight nor loose) for *this* tripod, which as people who have seen it in real-life... is MONSTROUSLY WIDE (~40mm tubes) in girth for single-tube-leg tripods. Therefore it is unsurprising why many other reviewers with smaller tripods will find the fit of this bag to be loose.

The 80cm version of this bag fits my Manfrotto MT057C3-G + RRS BH-40 pretty perfectly. It can be made to fit with Manfrotto's huge 057 head (you probably need to turn the mounting plate to the portrait orientation), but you would probably be better-off with the 90cm version.

The design seems great, as the large (some are calling it over-sized) thermo-molded foam "cap" spaces the head away the sides of the bag, and the cap takes the brunt of those impacts (i.e. putting the bag on the ground in haste). The strap is basically car-seat-belt webbing, which is surprisingly comfortable even given my ~9lb tripod. On the top, force-bearing end, it is attached to the bag with a triangular piece of fabric to spread the load on the bag.

No comment on durability, as I have not used it enough yet.

A very well design quality products. It protected my MT055XPRO3 tripod with the 055 Magnesium Ball Head Q5 attached. One minor complain, I had was the zipper...it's not easily zip and unzip on the go. Overall, very satisfied

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

This bag is pretty mediocre. Fit is loose which can be a plus or a minus. Zipper top is very poorly designed and is quite difficult to close without two empty hands. For the price, I would expect a much better design.

Good Protection For Carbon Fiber Tripod

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

The padded case offers protection for the tripod, and the extra padding at the end protects the installed ball head. Access either through side zipper or end opening. Well made, worth the price.

At first, I didn't think it was all going to fit. Well after a slight adjustment, I got my Manfrotto MT055, Manfrotto 241QR arm and Manfrotto 3 way head to fit in there. Setup is heavy, but this bag easily holds it and protects it, nice adequate padding.

I give this 4 stars even though we returned it. The diameter of the top of the case was just too large. We have a lot of gear and unnecessary bulk is no good. For those with large video heads, this may be great, but for normal ball heads (full size like Arca, RRS, etc.) the space is wasted. It was nicely made and looked sharp - the "quiver" style opening seemed handy as well.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

I have the Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 with head, they fit perfectly in this bag, I'm glad it's padded so I don't have to worry about banging it around.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

I bought Manfrotto's MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag after searching for a lower-cost alternative. I even considered padding out a big yoga bag. In the end, I decided the MBAG80PN was worth its cost to protect my Acratech GP ballhead & Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 tripod. The bag is tough, well-padded and structured. I fly between the US and Asia a few times a year and I'm not sure I want to risk checking my tripod in any bag. That said, if this bag is taken off me at the gate, I think it will adequately protect my gear. For daily schlepping it's rock solid. It's also surprisingly light & good looking despite its necessary bulk. My one complaint: the obvious branding. I carry my cameras in regular non-camera-gear-branded bags & with this tripod bag I'm wearing a sign that says I've got serious camera equipment on me.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

I bought this tripod case to use with my Manfrotto tripod and monopod. I like how it's padded all around, perfect to check in at airports. Pretty sturdy, I've carried it in muddy, rainy and dusty environments and it resists well, as well as being easy to clean afterwards.

One thing I wish it had was short handles, as well as a couple of pockets inside to put cards etc.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:

The material is really good. The bag fits everything well, legs and head of my tripod.

                                    Legs: Manfrotto 190XPROB
Head: Manfrotto 808RC4 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head with RC4 Quick Release

I would prefer it full black, instead of the red zipper.
