The Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag (Black) is a padded ballistic nylon bag designed to carry Bogen/Manfrotto tripod with a head up to 31" long. Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It also serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when it is carried. The zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. The end opening allows for faster "quiver" style extraction and insertion of the tripod. The bag is tapered to follow the shape of the tripod and head.
The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it's easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly. The bag includes a shoulder strap, carry and end handles providing three methods for carrying the tripod.

This has been designed for Manfrotto tripods. I use it with my 190XB tripod and a 802RC4 pan/tilt head. It is padded to protect the tripod. However, it does not stand very well. Moreover, the zipper are very hard to use, they get stuck a lot. A little pricey overall.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:
I bought this along with my 055CXPRO3 legs and MH055M0-RC4 head. This combination comes very close to not fitting the 31" bag. Like, you have to loosen the ball head and tilt it to the side in order for it to fit. Some may like this tight of a fit, but I would have rather had the 35" bag. This did not affect my rating, due to it being my own fault for not measuring before purchasing.Everything about the bag screams, "Top-notch quality". The materials used, the feel, and even the looks of the bag are amazing. I especially like the red zipper lining. I somehow misplaced my previous tripod and (all black) bag and I truly believe that may have been prevented, had my previous bag had a red zipper lining. One thing this bag is missing that my other, much less expensive, Manfrotto bag had is a small, exterior pocket. I used to just store my quick-release plate and a quarter (to loosen/tighten the plate) in the pocket, but now those will have to go elsewhere. This would've dropped the rating only half a star, but I can't do that, so I just rounded up and kept it at 5.Very, VERY nice bag! Highly recommended.

I use this to hold my 190CXPRO4 Tripod with MVH502AH head attached and it seams to protect them very well. My only concern is the way the top is attached by just a section about 3-4 inches I'm wondering if this will tear off if twisted over time.

Comments about Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag:
I am using the Manfrotto 561 BHDV-1 Monopod with this bag. I am the second review on this site with this bag and Manfrotto monopod to date.
It is a snug fit top to bottom with this Manfrotto 561 BHDV-1 monopod (maybe 1/4" room to spare). If you plan on using a ball head, you will need to remove it with the above set-up.
This bag is flat out quality. The reviews did not do justice to the quality and workmanship. I thought this was just another overpriced expensive bag.....wrong!
The two zippers have 3" long straps to pull the zippers which makes it easy to use. Manuevering the zipper around the head part of the bag is not as hard as I have read.
There is a very thick reinforced loop at the wide end or head end of the bag. If you want to attach anything at this loop point, it is stout and thick and well attached to the bag.
There are no interior pockets or straps. The carrying strap is adjustable which is a nice feature. There is a padded carrying handle at the narrow end of this bag.
The padding is approximately 1/2" thick maximum all around. There is ample room for another monopod or to stow a medium thick winter jacket if needed.
The wide end of the bag or end which protects the fluid head is made of a semi-rigid padded material which appears to be able to withstand a high degree of neanderthal abuse.
I wrestled with the bags price but after getting it, my buyers remorse quickly faded away knowing my monopod will be entombed safely in a weatherproof womb-like bag. It is stylish and well worth the investment.

Im using manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod and Manfrotto's 498RC2 ball head and the thing is when ball head still attached to tripod it's hard to zip the bag. I almost returned the bag but changed my mind cause it doesnt bother me actually that much. Light, comfortable, waterproof.

Very sturdy and well padded bag. Big zippers, Italian flair. Use is for a 057 carbon fiber tripod and it's a little small for the tripod and 057 ball head, but you can get by if you put ball head in portrait position. Then it fits snug. Shoulder strap is a nice plus.

I bought this bag to save my old Manfrotto tripod from any additional abuse. I took this bag with me cross-country, and couldn't be happier with the results. It's affordable, light, and extremely durable. It makes carrying your tripod a breeze. I couldn't be happier with it and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a solid tripod bag!

I have two of these bags for my video and photo tripods. They're great. It's great how you just have to unzip the top to get the tipod out. They're also fully waterproof and very padded. They're worth the extra couple bucks over knock offs or cheaper tripod bags!

This bag is very well made. I had to return it only because I have a pan/tilt head on my tripod and I would need to remove the handles. It would be great for a tripod with a ball head or a three way head that had knobs instead of handles that jut out.

I recently bough the new Manfrotto MH055M8-Q5 Photo-Movie Tripod Head With Q5 QR Plate. It is way to large at the top for any conventional tripod bag. This bag fits it perfectly. And the extra padding around the head is a welcome addition missing in most other bags.

I use this to store & transport my 055CXPRO3 with the 055 Magnesium Ball Head with Q5 Quick Release attached to it and its the perfect case! Its quite big but the padding that is built into is what makes it worth every penny... I just feel like my very expensive tripod is well protected. I love the strap that comes with it... you can carry the tripod like Rambo :) and you'll barely feel the weight. I've held back a couple of weeks for this review so I can really assess it... I absolutely love this case and I highly recommend it.
