The Glidecam Camera Weight Plate is a flat, metal counterweight that can be used with any of Glidecam's HD and Pro series stabilizers. Weighing 12.7 oz, the plate is added to the camera head plate to increase the weight of lighter cameras. The 35 mounting holes allow for differing configurations and distribution of weight.

I was building a DIY table dolly for my DSLR and couldn't find a good, stable, lightweight plate for it. After searching for a long time on the web, I came across a Youtube video of a guy who used this as the plate for a dolly. I ordered it and it was better quality than I thought it would be. I love it!

Works exactly as described. I'm using it to make a very light handycam work with a Glidecame HD 2000. Doing it again, I would have purchased two of these additional plates because even with this one I had to use a couple additional weight plates. But all things considered, this thing is great!

Two years ago I made my worse mistake in quite some time - rather than weigh my SONY HDR-FX7 I estimated its weight, over-guessing by 30% (the camera weighs in under 5 pounds). And in doing so I bought the Glidecam 4000 Pro stabilizer, and have never been able to use it with that camera.
But now with my purchase of the Camera Weight Plate by Glidecam, I can now use the stabilizer with both my FX7 and my heavier cameras.
This simple little device not only saved me lots of money I would have spent on an additional stabilizer, but I can transport one stabilizer for my cameras rather than two or more.

I've been looking at cheese plates for some time, and most of them are priced higher than the equipment I attach to them. So when I found this little goody, my eyes lit up!
No...it's not a "real" cheese plate, but for attaching things such as arms, battery packs, audio recorders, and such, it will more than do the trick. I probably should have bought two.

Like most reviewers, I bought this to make a diy spider trax for my video camera. The weight plate worked well for this. There was only one hole to enlarge to accept the skate board trucks. The price for this plate is the best of any similar product I've found and it's heavy enough to provide stability.
