The Orbis Arm is a compact and lightweight mounting bracket designed to work with the Orbis Ring Flash and almost all other SLR flashes, cameras and lenses. Built from durable 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, the arm extends the possibilities of your Orbis, giving you the freedom and stamina to shoot on-camera for longer. It allows an Orbis photographer to shoot with one hand leaving the other free to zoom the lens, interact with their portrait subject and more.

I found this arm a bit too cumbersome and a hassle to use. I prefer to just hold the Orbis Ring Flash up to my camera and use it that way. I found doing that a lot easier than having the whole rig attached to my camera for the duration of the shoot; especially since I like to switch between ring flash shots and natural light shots. Also, with this attached to the camera, you have to remove the flash and Orbis to change lenses which is a pain.
Further, this item is too expensive for what it is (just like the Orbis Ring Flash itself actually).
That said, if you absolutely have to have both hands free when using your Orbis, there is no other choice than this arm.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
Probably a little better looking and built than you might expect. I'd give it more stars but the price deducts from the overall rating.

Invaluable aid when mounting your ring-flash set-up on a tripod for an off-axis shot. Very sturdy construction and easy to use. I use this with a Nikon SB-900 flash set on top of a Pocket Wizard Flex radio transmitter.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
I love to use the Orbis ring flash and don't think I would think about it without the bracket. With my hands full holding the camera, it would be difficult to hold the flash and Orbis without compromising stability. Even when shooting vertically, the bracket holds well and allows me to shoot any way I like. It also packs nicely and is fairly compact. This is a must-have if you plan on shooting with the Orbis.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
I originally tried to use the Orbis without this bracket as well as fashion one on my own to save some money.
All in all I would have been far happier just buying this to begin with.
I myself added inexpensive elastic cords to further enhance the stability of things.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
Certainly makes life easier and almost an essential component to using the ring flash. Sets up easily and balances well with the camera. Is still not bullet proof in making the ring flash secure on a smaller flash unit. Worth the extra few bucks to use as part of the kit.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
If you own or are buying an Orbis, this is a must have accessory. Using the orbis without it is OK, but clumsy as it doesn't hold the flash very well. This enables you to mount the Orbis onto your camera or a lightstand. I secure it even further onto the Bracket using some velcro around both the flash and bracket.

Way too heavy to be useful. I just use the strap that came with the Orbis flash ring adapter.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
Not much to say about a metal arm, but if you are planning to buy the Orbis Ring flash, I strongly recommend buying the flash and arm as a package. The arm is well constructed, but a bit heavy. It is easy to use, and makes using the Orbis Ring flash more comfortable.

If you purchase the ring flash you MUST have the bracket too. It is way to difficult to operate effectively without it. i saw the video but the bracket makes life easy.

I bought the arm in the kit package, but [...] it's so lame. I like the ring flash, but not the arm. Why they made this arm out of steal instead of aluminum is beyond me. It's very heavy. Way to heavy. Useless heavy. Clunky. Bulky.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
Hand holding is so much more useful and easy so, unless you want to use it as a soft light on a stand, you can get by without this thing. IT just feels like the whole thing is going to topple and rip my hot shoe apart with it. Sketchy.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
I realize that it's easier to use the Orbis Ring Flash without the Orbis arm.
The arm is not easy to hold, all the weight of the ring flash + speedlite goes to the hot shoe and I do not think it's rock solid to support all the weight and the movements of the kit.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
This bracket holds the ring flash well in the landscape mode. In the portrait mode it is unwieldy especially without an anti-rotation device at the tripod foot interface. I used a Nikon cold-shoe-to-tripod adapter to mount the flash. A similar item should have been included in the Bracket kit.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
Pro: The arm is lightweight and feels solid.
Cons: there is no inner washer on the screws, and you can easily unscrew them too far and they eat into the metal.
I also think the range of sizes is surprising limited. The bracket does not shorten enough when using smaller flash units like a 430EX without using at least a 2" hot shoe attachment.

Comments about ENLARMA1A Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket:
The build quality is solid on the Orbis Arm Mounting Bracket. Directions are OK. The arm is not easy to put together, and takes a bit of time to figure it out. Works as advertised, but you somehow feel that Orbis could have done it better.
