I use this for my new TV. it came with their old plastic one that used to ship with everything. i found myself out of ignorance thinking that one was fine. until i used this one at my cousins house i had no idea how substantially better this remote is. it is made of aluminum so it feels like i could run it over with my car and it would be fine. it is sturdy enough that i can hold it end to end and try my hardest to bend it and it doesn't. very well built. it has an additional button in the center for just general navigation. once using it i realize how much i needed that extra button. also it is the perfect length for the hand, unlike the previous plastic thing.
Overall it is a very good product and if you use your apple remote a lot then you should get one of these.

I bought the Apple Remote to work with my new 13.3" MacBook Pro, previous, Apple would give their customers a remote with each laptop. Now, if you want one, you will have to buy one. B&H, sales them for less than the apple store, the remote looks better than Apple's old ones and it is easy to use with the new laptops that are out at the moment. For the price you pay for Apples Laptops, they should include them with all of their units as they did before! If you are buy a new Apple Notebook computer, buying one is worth having with a new laptop computer.

I mostly use my Apple remote for volume and song control through iTunes instead of Apple TV or Front Row controls. The remote purchased was to replace my older remote which was the older design. I like the new design a lot. It is very sleek and light weight considering it's durable brushed aluminum case. I have no negative comments about the remote whatsoever.
