I lost my old adapter to my macbook and had to buy this out of desperation. It's [$] which is ridiculous, and the rubber exterior is really stiff and hard to use when I wrap it around the knobs. Some folks at B&H told me that Apple has this patent for a few more years, so the price of it doesn't look like it's going down any time soon. I mean, if the type of material that they're using for this adapter will last longer, that's terrific. But if you're looking to replace your old adapter and actually can afford to live without it for a few days, order either the old model, or hunt around for cheaper prices.

Bought this adapter new in April 2013 as a replacement for the family macbook 3.1 adapter (macbook is 64 months, 1300 + cycles, 80% battery capacity). This new adapter's pin is similar to the adapter on the Macbook Unibody (version 6.1). The old original T-shaped adapter's pins got permanently stuck in its tiny casing and was useless even though the main power unit was functional.
The product came in its original unopened Apple adapter box; would buy this product again from B&H. Thanks.

As far as chargers go, it's expensive--but it's a mac. I needed a replacement charger when my hand-me-down one finally went and fizzled out. (the duckbill plug part cracked)This new one works just fine so far!

I purchased the metal, 13" MacBook MB466LL/A from B&H in early 2009, and the power charger that came with that Mac had been working fine for almost 4 years until it finally stopped charging the MacBook (it was the "T" style charger).
This replacement worked perfect (it is the newer, "L" style).
Pros:
* Connects a little better to the Mac, always starts charging.
* Is the real deal: I looked into a lot of other chargers, but went with B&H because it is an authentic charger and not some knock off.
Cons:
* Price! Really Apple? That much for a charger? Oh well...

Had to buy a new charger after the old one broke, like it happens to most chargers after a year or two, which is absolutely defective and probably on purpose. Anyway, works well now and hopefully will continue to do so for longer than the last one.

We bought this to replace the power adapter that came with our (2008) MacBook, which broke.
The cord feels sturdier than the old one , and the magnetic connector stays in better. It also doesn't get very hot, like the first did. If you need a replacement (or extra) power adapter for your MacBook , or 13" MacBook Pro , I would definitely recommend this .

I carry this charger with me every day as I work from home/travel/etc. It's lightweight and packs up nicely for day to day storage. My computer still carries a great charge but its helpful to have this charger ready when necessary. Love the plug design too so the cord releases easily from the computer so not to damage if it gets tripped up.

Living on a small island makes it hard to find the products for your gear when they go bad. The product that I had received via mail, worked like the original product. I had no difficulty using it, it worked straight out of the box and if i lose this one I would definitely buy this product over and over again. The product came with everything that I needed, the wall plug and the extension cord, this product was awesome.

Original Apple product, in it's original packaging. It was about $15 cheaper than anyplace else online. Still too expensive! From other reviews online there are far cheaper power bricks but they are all knockoffs of questionable worth. The new cable, connecter, and strain preventers all appear more durable than on my original brick. It has worked great both for charging and for running off of AC. Cables are more stiff than on the original.
