      Comments about Canson Infinity 2296 Baryta Photographique Inkjet Paper (310 gsm) 8.5 x 11" / 10 Sheets:

I am printing very colorful photographs for my senior thesis and have not been able to find a paper that would represent the colors the way I edited them to look. With this paper, however, my colors are as vibrant and beautiful as I envisioned.

        Comments about Canson Infinity 2296 Baryta Photographique Inkjet Paper (310 gsm) 8.5 x 11" / 10 Sheets:

I use baryta photographique for photographic prints I sell as well as for my personal use. I have only printed color with this paper and have loved the results: vibrant colors, a great luster and a richness I havent found in other inkjet papers.
The weight of the paper is excellent, a great professional-quality archival print paper.
The only thing I've noticed so far that may be an issue is that the surface seems to scratch somewhat easily so I sleeve prints almost immediately.

          Comments about Canson Infinity 2296 Baryta Photographique Inkjet Paper (310 gsm) 8.5 x 11" / 10 Sheets:

I am using this fine art paper to print both color and B&W photos with my Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mk II. The paper is very beautiful and it is very bright considering it is not resin coated and it is neither a glossy nor semi-glossy paper. The results in color and in B&W are outstanding, with some of my photography friends even thinking the B&Ws are from a wet lab. My goal is to have archival quality prints and this is the best paper I have tried so far!

It is a little heavy (310g) and needs to go through the front tray feeder of the printer that allows the paper to stay flat through the printing process, so make sure your printer can accommodate that.

Purchasing from B&H was a snap as usual, with a very good price and the best service.

                    Comments about Canson Infinity 2296 Baryta Photographique Inkjet Paper (310 gsm) 8.5 x 11" / 10 Sheets:

After purchasing an epson 3880 i went searching for paper. Enter Baryta Photographique Inkjet Paper. I did tests with ilford gold fiber silk, canson baryta photographique, epson exhibition fiber, and hahnemuhle photo rag pearl & baryta. The tests consisted of profiling each paper, with datacolor hardware and software, and making the same prints and comparing the results. Coming from a darkroom background i was interested mainly in black in white, but i also compared color as well. My only tool for judging were my eyes and hands. The epson paper came in last place for several reasons - the whites are unnatural and the price is way too high. This is not a bad paper, but for the price there are better choices. Hahnemuhle photo rag pearl & baryta are both excellent papers. My personal favorite between the two would be the baryta because of how similar it reminds me of my favorite darkroom papers and it's a bit more neutral, pearl is a natural white base and there for slightly warmer. The feel of both papers is fantastic and when holding it in your hand your may think that your are dealing with a traditional darkroom paper. Ilford gold fiber silk and Canson baryta photographique are similar in look and feel, which is good and bad. They both look fantastic, but the canson paper just has a bit more pop. A little bit sharper with a great white, since they both have barium sulfate (baryta), which enhances the white, i would guess that the canson has a little bit of optical brighteners added. it's not overdone like the epson paper, just a touch to put it over the top, similar to the differences between the two hahnemuhle papers. The one thing that i didn't care for is the feel of both papers. All of these papers have a similar look to traditional darkroom papers (glossy double weight air dried) but only the hahnemuhle has a similar natural rag feel. If the print is matted or framed it really wouldn't matter and perhaps i'm being a bit ridiculous and nit picking, but if you want to make a paper that is similar to traditional darkroom paper it should have the same feel. In the end looking at the same print printed on each of these papers they're all really good, but the canson paper has a sharpness and a pop that almost gives it a an energy all it's own. It was also the only paper that i did not have to create a custom paper configuration for (this has to be done if the paper does not travel through the printer correctly. Not that big of a deal, but worth mentioning). The price of the paper is another factor that has to be considered and the canson paper is one of the least expensive. It's difficult to put into words why this paper is my favorite and i am sorry for sounding vague with words like pop or energy, but if you are after the look of a traditional darkroom glossy double weight air dried print you should try this paper. The good news is that they sell a pack of ten sheets of 8.5x11" for around [$], which is a good way to try it out without much of an investment.
