The Trophy XLT 4-12x40 from Bushnell is a cost effective riflescope with Amber-Brite multicoated optics for a crisp sight-picture, a 1.0" tube that's filled with dry nitrogen for water and fogproof performance, an adjustable objective, and Bushnell's Multi-X reticle.

A mounting base and rings are used to attach a riflescope to a firearm. A comfortable sight picture is contingent upon the height of the rings. A comfortable cheek-weld is the result of properly positioning the scope over the receiver. Mounting the scope close to the receiver is preferable, yet scopes with larger objectives need higher rings so the front bell can clear the barrel. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.

Optical Performance
  • Amber-Brite Optics: High-contrast multicoating adds depth and clarity to sight picture
Use and Handling
  • Fast-focus eyepiece for rapid target acquisition
  • Adjustable objective lens for eliminating parallax error
  • Precision adjustments: 1/4 MOA audible/tactile/resettable W&E correction
  • Multi-X Reticle: Four long posts create a narrow gate where fine cross hairs establish your exact point of aim. This configuration draws the eye directly to the center of the sight picture quickly.

I mounted this on an air arms tx200m3 and am very pleased with the adjustments and particularly the clarity. It is quite bright next to my BSA essentials (2).

Comments about Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40 Riflescope (Matte Black):

Let's face it for the money you can't expect Nightforce quality. I have to say though, for the money you will be hard pressed to find a clearer, brighter, better scope. Seems to track true and the A.O. is a nice feature. I have it mounted on a Ruger 10/22 and the length of the scope really fits well on a rimfire.

Comments about Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40 Riflescope (Matte Black):

Scope is very light. I thought the whole thing was plastic when I first picked it up. In all honesty the adjustments don't feel that great. But even at twice the price I'd highly recommend this scope. It IS air rifle rated. Which is saying a good deal about its durability. Note many FAR higher priced scope manufactures won't rate their products for this kind of abuse. And not all Bushnell's are either. With over 200 rounds through it now this scope hasn't flinched at the abuse. I feel I can expect many years of solid service from this product.

              Comes with flip up caps.

Excellent product. I have two and use them on high end ground squirrel shooting rifles. With the adjustable objective you can estimate range rather closely. All day shooting sessions do not bother it. Great scope for the money.
