The Westcott Erin Manning Home Studio Lighting Kit (120VAC) is a great way to start shooting studio-type photographs: the kit includes two standard Edison lamp base light fixtures, two 85W daylight-balanced fluorescent bulbs, two 6.5' light stands, two 20x20" softboxes, and an educational DVD to get you started. The fluorescent bulbs each have an approximate life of more than 8,000 hours and are 5500K daylight bulbs.

Maybe I'm just too used to using Manfrottos but I found these light stands too difficult to open (I ended up jamming my fingers a few times). The quality of the lights is good but I found it to be too weak for studio photography.

I bought these lights to do indoor portraits. It's very easy to set up and take down. The quality of the lights is better than I expected and the educational dvd was very informative. It was nice to see them in use since I have never used studio lights. The only reason for the missing star was that it came to me missing a part. I contacted B&H and the manufacturer sent it right out to me.

I used this product to take photos of my daughter indoors without the harsh camera flash. I assembled the lighting system in twenty minute after watching the educational video. For the price I think the system is great to take photos of your family. The lamps are very bright, cool to the touch, and safe to use around small children.
