I am a professional sound mixer who needed a cart to haul some cases around on and give me a area to work from. So I bought this cart and the Shelf and Decklid. The cart is well built and BH is the only place that gives you the run flat tires for same price as normal air filled tires. So that is why I bought the cart from BH. The only cons to the cart are the Shelf and Deck Lid which are extra and only needed if you plan on using the cart to work from. The bolts that hold the shelf to the frame aren't long enough so I had to buy some longer bolts for $5.00 at a hardware store which wasn't a big deal. The deck mounting blocks were to close to the edge of the cart making it hard to secure it so it was easy to fix just took a wood chisel and trimmed a inch off each of the wood mounting blocks.
Overall I love the cart and still think the shelf and deck lid are a good buy you just need to work on them a little bit like most gear I own

I'm a video pro who had high hopes for this item. Although the concept is good, I think the execution and quality control are abysmal.
First, it's heavier than sin. In and out of your vehicle, especially with the decks attached, is a real effort.
Second, the design is nowhere near as good as I was led to believe. The way the handles fold up and into those little tab slots by bending them seems so "garage" to me. And the tabs barely stop the handles from coming back out. The handles are also loose when raised... they jiggle back and forth when pushing or pulling the cart so it all feels loose and poorly executed. I had to tape metal washers onto the handles to reduce the play! And why square steel tubing? Square tubing is heavier and less efficient than round tubing.
Then, the holes for attaching the optional decks are too small (or the bolts are too big). You have to screw the bolts into the holes and THEN put on the wingnuts! Which brings up another point... why on earth were the decks, and how they expand and attach to the cart, designed the way they are? They are a PAIN to attach! It seems to me by the time I get this cart fully put together (with decks) and ready to roll someone else with a standard cart will have made 2 or 3 trips and gotten everything transported.
And that bottom deck with the clunky wooden tabs, painted plywood, and stapled carpeting is SO "garage".
The no flat wheels are way too hard to be thought of as all-terrain. I went to go over an empty garden hose and the whole thing skidded to a stop against the smaller casters. A GARDEN HOSE! I was hoping that they would have more give.
All in all, this design might be great in the smaller sizes but as far as this large model, it just doesn't scale up. A real bummer.

I was using an old luggage cart to transport some video equipment and it was just too small so I upgraded to the R12. Now I can carry all of my equipment and more so this is well worth the extra money. Overall works great and is easy to handle.

Comments about MultiCart 8-in-1 Equipment Transporters - R12NF All-Terrain:
Ultimately the R12 is very handy to have on location as a camera cart. We work in tight locations and it is a plus to be able to fly with a cart that allows you to keep all your gear in one place as you move around set.
For this purpose though I would like it if it were lighter still. The reason for choosing the R12 over the other (lighter) models is it's extra height for using as a stand-at work station with the top shelf fitted. However, in addition to the steel and wood construction you pick up extra material weight with the added length capability and beefed-up front casters.
We did have a back wheel break into pieces in transit the first time it was used on location, so although the wheels do the job of load-bearing for our purposes they may be susceptible to impact in transit. The wheel was easily replaced as a single item available at B+H. We are now using a padded flight case made for a stroller when checking in this cart and we remove the wheels - so far, so good.

I use this multi-cart for transporting video equipment. I love that it can be adjusted in length to fit the size of the equipment that I am carrying. It is also very convenient the way it folds down into a small dimension so that it can be stowed in a vehicle.
I recommend getting the carpet covering boards that create a more stable and less slippery platform for carrying crates, bags, tripods, light stands, etc. I also use kayak straps to secure the equipment to the cart.
The multicart is a valuable piece of my video equipment package that I take with me on all shoots. Highly recommended.

Ideally, you're gonna use this with some nice and square edged cases, but if you're like me and haven't gone the Pelican route just yet, get yourself some bungee cords. I picked up some nice flat 40" cords and they do the trick in holding my gear on the cart.I've transported so much stuff on this already. The biggest load so far held: 10' roll of paper, 5' roll of paper, heavy duty backdground stand, packed 48" stand bag, backpack full of lighting gear, Domke F1X sized bag, 2'x1' bag of lighting gear, 48" pole w/Kacey head adapter. Pulled the cart to full length and had the 10' roll going right through the handles and between the long cases and the smaller bags. The handles are a tad wobbly, but the steel catches at the bottom inspire a lot of confidence. The wheels are nice on this model and I had no problem going over a curb with all that gear. Turns very well. It's biggish when folded flat given the size of the rear tire, but it lives in the trunk of my Camry's trunk just fine.Get one, your back will thank you.

Maybe it will get old, but for nowloadin' up is a pleasure instead of a chore. I'mgetting older and ever mindful of limitations I didn't used to think about. I do on site video production and webcast services and need to transport a three camera flypack with encoders, lights, etc. This cart is solid and quite stout, yet collapses to a fairly compact package for transport. The arms have a bit more play in them than I'd like, but that's a minor nit. The height of the wheels keeps the cart from being as compact when collapsed as I'd like, but I think the larger wheels really are a benefit for real world use. VERY happy with the product. It was quick and easy to assemble, stout, but not overly heavy, particularly given the load it can support. The deck is a two piece affair, solid and a snug fit, but it limits the portability to a degree. Probably most useful if you're leaving the cart at a given location and don't need to collapse it frequently for transport.

I'd best describe this cart as something that's much more flexible than the traditional convertible dolly cart but not nearly as expensive as the high-end equipment carts made for heavy-duty film production use. This is definitely a step above what you can get at you local home improvement store and looks very professional. It's quite configurable and is more durable than you might think upon first inspection. The no-flat tires work well and the expandable bed works great. I'll probably be buying a second cart.

I use this cart for transporting a large Pelican case and grip bag. The smallest position is perfect for c-stands and fits into elevators. It's well-built for the price and easy to maneuver. Collapsed, I can fit the cart in the front seat of my small sedan, but I normally leave it in the trunk. This was the best four-wheel cart I could find for the price that is small enough to fit in a car. If you drive a truck or van that has more space, a Magliner might be a more durable choice, but they are much longer and heavier. I'm not sure I'd trust the Multicart as a table, but it's fine for hauling gear.
