Comments about CobraCrane Mamba Crane Handheld Jib:

I own 3 tripod crane from backpacker to cobra crane plus, but there are times and spaces where even the backpacker is too much bulky to mount, or gets too much attention to it, and it's not good at that time. So finally someone came with this idea, an arm mounted crane!!, WOW. Cons: not as stable as tripod crane, but you get used to it in time, and only supports handycams, as HC9 or vixias (for HDV). Pros: A crane that you can carry around and get into practically anywhere. Even if you can't get used to handle it like a crane (because needs fluidity and strenght), you can use it as a very large monopod with a tiltable and paneable remote head!!!. I bought mine direct from source, since at that time B&H didn't sold it, but now that it is available for everyone, I recommend it widely. Very light for itself (depend what handycam you use and battery, it gets more and more difficult to do fluid ascending or descending takes) and once that you master it, you will get incredible shots every single time. Tip: You can slide all the way down the monopod, and rest it in your foot, keep clear your back, and make your fluid take from up to down with right hand, while with left hand moving slowly the tiltable head. Do it some times and you will master it really soon.

Excellent piece of equipment, ideal for over the crowds shots, with a little practice, works like a standard crane. Needs a good and steady arm.
