I am really impressed with this tripod. I would have never expected such a nice tripod for the money.
first my only complaint is that there is a tiny amount of creep in the head and when laying it all the over doesn't bring the camera to 90 degrees it's more like 95 or 100 so you have to lift the camera slightly to level out portrait shots.
Since those two issues are kinda big I docked the tripod a star. But for those weaknesses there are a ton of strengths.
First the tripod feels extremely sturdy, I have no worries with my D300 and my 70-300mm lens on there.
the foam grips are really nice when shooting outside in the cold.
you can set the tripod flat on the ground by removing the lower portion of the stem. And you get two bubble levels.
The legs move and operate with ease and the spiked feet are really nice, you screw up the rubber guards to expose the spiked feet and screw the guards back down when shooting indoors.
This tripod is really light but very sturdy and it is really compact, when attached to my back back it doesn't take a lot of room or stick out really bad. It also comes with a very nice case for either storing or traveling.
For the money you can't beat this tripod!

I didn't receive the 2 piece center column as stated in the product description. I did register the product on line, mentioning the discrepancy, and received an e-mail stating that a replacement 2 piece center column would be shipped to me within 2-weeks.
The lower leg extensions of the tripod are very small in diameter and the locking clip does not provide a stable tripod with the legs fully extended. If you only extend the lower section about half way, the tripod is very stable under my cameras weight.
The ball head is permanently attached to the center column, so don't plan on upgrading to a different and/or better ball head in the future.
I like the aluminum construction. No plastic parts at major loading points to break or wear and lead to wobbling.

I have a Nikon D7000, and was looking for a lightweight tripod that can support the camera. I am very satified with the buy, specially for the price it comes with.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
I purchased this tripod because it had nice features and an excellent price point. The product was designed well but there was a problem with the telescoping legs. The second of the 3-stages, on each leg oddly enough, wouldn't slide smoothly. I had hoped it would loosen after a bit but never did. I had to force the legs to telescope and was afraid it would damage to tripod so unfortunately I had to return it.

I especially love that I can set it very close to the ground providing me with great angles when shooting flowers and insects on macro.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
the attach mechanism is quite firm
very good for my nex6
but i would not trust a 6D+720 on this unless if its going very low or if its not extended
although the hook is suppose to add weight to the tripod and make it more stable
you won't really trust the legs to do that kind of thing

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
It does what it needs to but it's flimsy. I could deal with that given the price, but the quick release plate has cork-board or something similar where it contacts the bottom of the camera. This was fine for a while but now it rubs off and gets all over the place. What a mess.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
Just didn't meet my needs. Flimsy. It wasn't out of the box 5 minutes before I re-packed it and was looking for an RMA number. On the positive side - it certainly was light and it came with a nice carry bag. Ended up going with The Vanguard Alta 264AP. Heavier but a much nicer unit with a very smooth pan head.

This is not a tripod intended for a large DSLR with a heavy lens, but for a small to medium camera it works perfectly.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
I use this products to mount my video camera, the most important features I was looking for was a reasonable price, since Im a semi pro user, how portable it was, when checking other tripods I put special attention in weight and the size when folded.
I work as a documentarist.
The bag its a plus definitely for travelers like me a good feature
Another good thing was the versatility.

I am just a weekend photographer. I think this will suit me just fine. I was hoping for a handle for panning, but there is no picture of one, so I got what I wanted. Other than that high quality materials and durability for you money.

The product is light but sturdy and supports my 5D with an 85mil perfectly.
It comes with a bag which is very useful and the tripod its self is very compact.
Over all if you're looking for a cheap tripod that doesn't break in your hands this is a great choice.

Very sturdy and solid. The carry bag that came with it is thick and durable. The shoulder strap makes the whole package easy to carry.
I have not used this yet (not counting my front yard) but I will and do not anticipate any problems.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
I use this tri-pod with a still camera to mainly take portraits and landscape shots. Some of the leg extensions are a little tight when you take them out or put them back in. The head is a little finicky also. You move it up and then it drops back down, then you move it up again and it drops even more. Over all I think it is really good for it's price.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
The Voyager Lite Vista tripod was exactly what I was looking for. I like that a lot of the parts are metal as compared to plastic, and it extends taller then most in this price range, yet folds down fairly compact. For the price you can't beat it. Fast easy shipping from B&H made it a great purchase.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:
-Fits perfectly with my Canon T3i, love the quick release.-Everything adjusts smoothly with the ball head and to the desired height. It's taller than me when fully extended and I'm 5'8".-It's lightweight and the carrying bag is a bonus.-The only negative thing that I've noticed is the center neck extension was made with 2 parts that screw together and sometimes this catches and wobbles when I raise it up and loosens when I rotate. But this is easily fixed by tightening it back up. -Overall a great, sturdy product for a good price.
