I am really impressed with this tripod. I would have never expected such a nice tripod for the money.

first my only complaint is that there is a tiny amount of creep in the head and when laying it all the over doesn't bring the camera to 90 degrees it's more like 95 or 100 so you have to lift the camera slightly to level out portrait shots.

Since those two issues are kinda big I docked the tripod a star. But for those weaknesses there are a ton of strengths.

First the tripod feels extremely sturdy, I have no worries with my D300 and my 70-300mm lens on there.

the foam grips are really nice when shooting outside in the cold.

you can set the tripod flat on the ground by removing the lower portion of the stem. And you get two bubble levels.

The legs move and operate with ease and the spiked feet are really nice, you screw up the rubber guards to expose the spiked feet and screw the guards back down when shooting indoors.

This tripod is really light but very sturdy and it is really compact, when attached to my back back it doesn't take a lot of room or stick out really bad. It also comes with a very nice case for either storing or traveling.

For the money you can't beat this tripod!

This tripod gets the job done all right, although there is some creep/sliding of the camera once a position has been chosen. This requires careful planning to make sure the camera doesn't end up facing unwanted angles. This tripod is very light and portable indeed and as such it's ideally suited for lighter DSLR's (Canon 20D/30D, Rebel, etc.) fitted with light lenses and, of course, point and shoot cameras. The removable plate is not very easy to put on/take off and takes some tinkering with. Overall, a decent tripod that gets the job done but from which you shouldn't expect professional performance and quality.

    Great quality, solid frame.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:

This is a high quality product at an extremely reasonable price. The height is perfect along with all the angles that it can reach. The quick load platform is a must for snap movement.

The frame is very sturdy and still remains lightweight. The carrying bag is a wonderful addition included in the price. I recommend any camera users to get this tripod.

But, the head is a bit flimsy, not sur it would hold a full frame with battery grip, so i ordered a manfrotto head to go with it. Now i'm satisfied. Oh yeah... Add some weight to it when shooting... It is light...

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:

I have had this tripod a bit over a couple of weeks and thusfar it has done well. I use it mainly for landscapes with my Canon 6D, Grip and EF 20-35 f/2.8L which, if you know, are a heavy combination. The tripod performs well, especially with the pointed legs deployed. This is not a $ Manfrotto but it performs just as nicely for what I need it for which is super light carry and steady. When I want something that doesn't need to be carried far or used in windy conditions, I break out the Manfrotto. This is great for what I expected and needed it for which is a lightweight, packable hiking tripod that is quick-to-go on the fly.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:

Great tripod for the money, it's lightweight, compact and it extends pretty high. It handles my Olympus OM-D EM-5 with my ProMaster 7500EDF Flash easily. If you're using a 35mm camera it has a level on the side of the ball head so that comes in handy. I've used it a handful of times thus far and every time it's been great, reliable and sturdy. For the money I don't think there's a better one out there. I also like the locking system on the mount, pretty great, and that it has a little metal hook so that you don't accidentaly yank the pole from the tripod stand.

I bought this tripod specifically for a trip to Europe. I wish I had bought a ball-head much sooner. This one works wonderfully and I am very happy with the tripod. The lowest leg sections feel a little snug and catchy when pulling them out. That's not a big deal, but makes you worry about the life expectancy.

Pleasantly surprised, upon first opening this product, at the quality and the sturdiness. I am fairly new to photography, so after a horrible experience with the purchase of a much cheaper tripod from one of my favorite retailers, I was happy to receive a product that was sturdy and of great quality, and for a very reasonable price. The rubber feet offers great grip, and the quick release is simple enough for me to use. I really am enjoying this tripod. I am giving it a 4 because I have only used it once or twice, and am still in the process of evaluating all of its other features.

I was traveling to the Grand Canyon/Las Vegas and wanted a lightweight tripod for the trip. I was impressed wit the sleekness and compatibility of the tripod. It came in it's own bag so I was able to attach it to my camera bag and get through the airport fairly easy. I used the tripod mainly for night shots and hiking through the rocky terrain. I was very impressed with it's stability and the size that it folded down to. It was not as light as I thought it would be but was still manageable. It has a quick release locking system that did not work quickly for me. I think there is a knack to it but I have not worked it out as yet. I enjoyed using the ballhead system for panning wide shots. Overall I was very impressed and would recommend it to someone who is looking for a relatively lightweight, stable, compact, inexpensive tripod.

This is my first tripod, but I have been very pleased with it. Very high quality, easy to attach camera and weight. It folds down very small and the included bag is a huge plus. I ordered another!

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager Lite with BHQ8 Ball Head:

I use this tripod for landscape and portrait photography. Most of my work is done outdoors and this has been working very well for me. It is lightweight but stable with fully adjustable legs. The padded top section of the legs is a nice feature as well. I used this tripod in very high winds to shoot the Aroura a few weeks ago and it stayed fairly stable, although when fully extended it becomes a bit more vulnerable to any movement. When adjusting the legs length independantly, it does have a couple spots where it binds a little. However, this can be corrected by releasing all the clips on that particular leg and adjusting the length from there. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
