First of all, B&H's price is excellent, [...].This router is incredibly small, being about half the size of my previous router. It's wireless range is very good also. Loading up internet pages seem much faster than my old 54g wireless router over both wired and wireless, and it so far is much more stable as far as service goes. It is supported by the DD-WRT firmware (use at your own risk, may void warranty), which helps me to make it much more functional than the original firmware. The best part of this router is the best part of every router: it works, and I don't have to think about it, reboot it, troubleshoot it...Excellent value, and as this is the second buffalo router I've had, I'm hoping it will have excellent longevity. My previous router was from Buffalo, I've had it for probably 5+ years, and it still works, however it is less stable and requires rebooting/reflashing of the firmware quite often, so I purchased this as a replacement. If this one lasts for another 5 years, Buffalo will have made a customer for life. The only con I have for this is that the ethernet ports are only 10/100 as opposed to 10/100/1000.Great product all around.

I've only had this router 2 weeks. It's attractive, super easy set up for Apple users, powerful and much faster than the D-Link it replaced. So it was total joy until I noticed the WiFi signal disappear about every 30-45 minutes. The signal returns in about one minute, but by then, ongoing downloads, streams and other connections are kaput!
Sadly, had I done my research, I'd have discovered this is a known issue with this unit, as complaints are all over the net forums.
Spoke today with tech support, who suggested I
1. flash to the "User friendly" firmware (non dd-wrt)
2. switch from auto channel to 1, 6 or 11
I also read somewhere to change the physical switch on the unit away from "Auto"
Sigh - I'll try all these tonight and report here if any success. I'd like to improve my rating.

Comments about Buffalo Nfiniti Wireless-N Essential High Power Router & Access Point:
I wrote the last review, but from another location and can't edit it - so here's the update:
I followed Buffalo tech support's instructions and flashed to their "user friendly" interface. Very ugly interface, and frankly, not very user friendly IMHO. Also, extremely feature limited.
The good news: I now have a mostly stable router, without signal dropouts. Things are going reasonably well.
Sadly, my impression was this router functioned better in almost every way with the DD-WRT firmware, except for the infamous dropouts.
I'm now struggling with my evaluation, as the sheen has worn off, and I've had to settle for a reduced feature set to get a useable appliance.
It's like you just started dating a beautiful girl, but soon notice she loses track of the conversation, and you must switch out her head to a less attractive one to meet your social needs. Now she follows the conversation, but is just a little bit duller!

I have spent a lot of hours trying to connect this router to no avail.
In this day and age why any one would make something that needs a rocket scientist to connect beats me.
However, putting my frustrations aside, I think this is a great product.

I use this router at home to connect a voip ata and as a wireless internet gateway for several computers.
I love the price, dd wrt firmware and how powerful the wireless signal is.
What is not so great is the fact that the wireless signal drops every day or so and will only come back after rebooting the router. I wish I had done more research before buying this router because this is an acknowledged problem as can be seen by searching the dd wrt forums.

We were interested in setting up a wifi hot spot in our church building. This router provided great reliability and had a strong broadcast signal. I would recommend this router to anyone wanting to set up a wireless network.

We have a 3 story brick house built in 1853 with the router on the third floor and laptop on the first. Our Linskeys router would go in and out constantly. So far, the Buffalo Nfiniti works perfectly. Connects fast and stays connected!

This router works really well. I've had no problems using it downstairs (haven't tried upstairs yet). Like other reviews stated, it's very difficult to set up (this is my first wireless router). Definitely not for the beginner user. Once it's up and running, it's a great product.

Comments about Buffalo Nfiniti Wireless-N Essential High Power Router & Access Point:
This is an amazing product for it's price. I went through several "high end" dual band routers that simply would not give me the range and coverage I needed. At less than half the price this router gives me amazing coverage, in both distance and reliability.
The firmware it comes with is amazingly configurable. Allows you to control every small detail, or if you can just go with defaults if you don't want to deal with, or understand, the intricacies.
I put two 7 dbi antennas on in place of what it came with, was easily able to pop into the configuration and up the power so the antennas would work. (Though as a note the antennas are certainly not needed, and I'm not even in the same house as my router!)
The only thing I would caution against is playing with the settings too much. If you don't know what something does - don't mess with it!! I did not follow such advice and ended up having to undo my fiddling more times than I would like to admit. ;)

I owned a Buffalo router for years and it worked great before it gave up on me. With a lot of confidence I got this unit as a replacement for a inferior model I owned before and performance is to say the least very disappointing. First it took me close to an hour to set it up and then it could not handle a small two bedroom apartment so I have no signal in the kitchen.

Replacing and old and broken Belkin router for our workplace. We have 2 Linksys routers on other ends of the building (one is for outsiders to use).
This was harder to setup than the Linksys, but the reception and speeds are actually better! Worth the slightly harder setup, for a better working product.
