Sony's HDR-XR350V 160GB HD Handycam Camcorder provides you with numerous capabilities including high def recording, multiple storage options, and built-in GPS. Other highlights include shooting in 24Mbps AVCHD and a myriad of user-friendly features such as Dual Recording, Face Detection, and Smile Shutter. When it's time to upload your videos and stills to you computer the XR350V is backed by Sony's Picture Motion Browser software which helps you transfer and edit images, along with quick upload to social media sites.
Aside from a 160GB hard disk drive (HDD), the XR350V also gives you the option to record 1920 x 1080i video and 7MP stills to Sony's Memory Stick media or to SD/SDHC memory cards. When the HDD is full you can transfer your files to the removable media for easy transfer or even more shooting time with the camera. The camera also features 1080/60p playback via HDMI using your HDTV. With a single cable you can watch your videos in the up-converted 1080/60p resolution for even more detail and clarity.
The HDR-XR350V also has a built-in GPS receiver for those who want to geotag their video and still images. Geotagging makes it easy to find your footage by location, and helps you share your memories on social media sites. In addition to the receiver, the camcorder also uses NAVTEQ maps and the Map Index function for storage and recall of your video and still images.
When it comes to the heart of the camcorder you'll find a back-illuminated 1/4" Exmor R CMOS sensor, Sony's BIONZ Image Processor, and other features like x.v. Color technology. A Wide Angle G-Lens with 12x optical zoom, a 2.7" touch panel LCD, and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode all work together to help you create beautiful video and still images.
Among the plethora of user-friendly functions the XR350V offers up a customizable "My Menu" system, a recording mode called "Golf Shot", and other features like automatic Power ON when the LCD is opened. You'll also benefit from Sony's Highlight Playback, Smooth Slow Record, and the Intelligent Auto Modes.

- Geotagging with Built-In GPS Receiver
- A built-in GPS receiver gives you the ability to view your current location on the LCD map display, as well as "tag" your shooting locations. Tagged videos and still images can be reviewed and played back using the Map Index function on the camcorder or once downloaded to your PC using the supplied PMB (Picture Motion Browser) software. - Like chapters in a book, Film Roll Index helps you easily find desired scenes in video footage. When using this feature, the camcorder previews the beginning of scenes and can create scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes)

- Face Index makes it easy to find and play back the right video scene. Using Face Detection technology, Face Index indexes your video footage according to the faces detected in each scene. When it's time to play back video, simply search for what you want by selecting from among the detected faces displayed in the index

- Store your memories in a whole new way with the ability to copy videos from your camcorder directly to an external hard disk drive (optional), all without a computer. - BIONZ Image Processor
- The BIONZ Image Processor works in conjunction with the Exmor CMOS sensor with ClearVid array for pristine imaging. The BIONZ Image Processor provides Data Noise Reduction, Fast Image processing, and Data compression to preserve videos and images. In addition, the BIONZ Image Processor enables Face Detection technology and Sony's Dynamic Range Optimizer for both video and still image capture.
