Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
I purchased this pad for a custom DSLR rig. It was the best and most durable shoulder pad I could find. The best thing is that a tripod plate can be attached to the bottom for easy tripod mounting. The price can't be beat.

Works ok - but just a small part of your over-priced Red Rock camera rig ...

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
It reduces weight from the from of the front of the camera grid and gives you more control when you position the camera on your shoulder.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
I purchased this for my Gini-Rig and it is definitely way more comfortable than the hard piece of rubber that originally came with it. Also the fact that this shoulder pad has threads to attach a tripod plate is an added bonus. If you want super light weight however this is a little heavy. It is a little expensive but all Shoulder Rig setups are, which is why to save some cash I bought a Gini Rig for all of the rails and handles (which are just as good as Zacuto) and spent the bigger money on this shoulder pad and a Zacuto Z-UB3 Universal baseplate.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
Like all RedRock Micro products, the shoulder pad with rod clamp is sturdy, light weight, well built and strikes the best balance between form and function. I use it as part of my DSLR rig which includes two 18" carbon fiber rods, a microlink extender, base plate, follow focus and single handle - all from RedRock Micro. The shoulder pad has no faults - it's a great product. I would suggest for anyone buying a RedRock rig (especially if you are opting out of a kit and configuring one yourself, like me) to make sure to purchase a counter weight. Not an issue with the product at all - just a suggestion.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
redrock micro builds solid stuff. slides right on the ords, the rod clamps are easy to tighten and adjust. you apparently can mount a camera right on the pad too (though i'm not sure how that is helpful.) and you can attach a tripod plate to the flat front bottom of the pad. this is a lot of weight and bulk just for a shoulder pad though.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
Form and function are top notch. Very simple assembly; just remember to thread carefully. Although it's already tripod attachable, I did attach a quick release plate from a Manfrotto MA577 Rapid Connect Adapter; and there was room to use both the 1/4" and 3/8" screws, which added stability.
Very happy with this purchase, as well as these additional Redrock Micro products.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
Having purchased other redrock mirco products in the past, I felt assured I was going to get a great product. Thanks for keeping a great record redrock micro. Using carbon fiber 15mm rails along with the redrock matt box this will be a welcome option to my cinema bundle. The screws are designed to be free of obstruction if one chooses to mount to the two 1/4 20" threads on the shoulders base. All components are constructed of durable materials, NOT plastic, connecting your rig to your body with a rubberized shoulder pad allowing me to operate on five to eight hour shoots with minimal fatigue.

Comments about Redrock Micro microShoulderPad w/Rod Clamp:
I am building a custom run and gun red rock set up. This shoulder pad is a critical piece if you're going for a shoulder mounted rig of course. You can slide it up and down the rods (lol) to best fit your needs and you can eventually attache weights to the back of it to provide counterbalance for your front end heavy rig, and trust me you will need the weights.
