Redrock Micro's microBalance Counterweight Starter Kit consists of a 2 lb (0.9kg) plate and a rod clamp designed to fit 15mm support rods with 60mm spacing. It provides a simple but comfortable counterbalance to shoulder-mounted camera rigs, such as the eyeSpy or microShoulderMount, to make handheld shooting easier and more stable. It can also be supplemented with additional, screw-on plates when using heavier cameras or an abundance of accessories.

I had to buy this to add weight to redrock micro rig. I prefer these weights to the newer version, these stay attached to each other with bolts and don't shift at all when in use.

Very good little weight, although if you are using the Redrock system like I am, you're going to need at least 4-6lbs. so be sure get an additional weight or two. I currently counter balance the Canon 7D, Matte Box, Manhattan 8.9 LCD Screen, follow focus, etc.

Works to balance my DSLR shoulder rig, but by increasing the weight, the system is more physically straining to use for extended periods of time. You must have a well designed shoulder rig system to utilize this weight effectively.
