The Truth B1031A from Behringer is an active 2-way nearfield monitor, ideal for use in home, professional, or project studios. The monitor features an 8" long-throw Kevlar woofer and a 1" dome tweeter to provide a wide frequency response with deep bass and clear treble. Advanced waveguide technology gives the speaker a wide sweet spot, while a precision crossover network ensures that each speaker element is performing at its best.
The monitor has Class A/B amplifiers with a total combined power of 150W for a strong, distortion-free performance. The amplifiers also have integrated protection circuitry to keep the monitor running smoothly. The rear panel features XLR, 1/4", and RCA inputs, allowing you to connect to virtually any sound system. Acoustic controls let you match the response of the monitor to your working environment. The speaker has a universal power supply for international use, and is magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors and other electronics.

I use these mostly for video editing and voice-overs. They are clear, crisp and adjustable for room conditions. They could pump a little extra bass but it is acceptable for the size woofer and sitting on stands. I'll eventually add a sub. I hear instruments on recordings I have not heard until now. They will play extremely loud without distortion. Well built cabinets(heavy). Great value for the money.

I picked up these speakers to provide amplification for my keyboard. I had previously tried keyboard amps but I wasn't very happy with them. Also, I really wanted two separate speakers.
For the money, and for this purpose this combo is unbeatable value. 2x150 watts (or 100 watts RMS), combined with the large (8") speakers make for speakers that sound good across the frequency range.
It doesn't hurt that they look great.
If I had to nitpick, I'd point out that they aren't easy to carry (no handles, quite heavy), and they aren't all as loud as one might expect. But given their intended use it's hard to fault them for that.

BERHINGER TRUTH 1031A ARE GREAT SPEAKERS IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A UPGRADE FROM YOUR 5.25 WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK THESE WILL DO THE JOB.I GOT THESE FOR 260 A PAIR WITH FREE SHIPPING AND THE SHIPPING ALONE IS 70 BUCKS SO FREE SHIPPING IS A STEAL.I GOT THEM HOME AND TESTED THEM WITH MY PROTOOLS ABELTON AND ROOM CORRECTION SOFTWARE.I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED FLAWS IN MY MIXS AND STARTED CORRECTING THEM AND NOW I AM ABLE TO MASTER WITHOUT DOUBTING THE TRUTH.

Besides being a really great price, for the PAIR of speakers, these 150 Watt powered Reference Monitors are everything Behringer says they are. The stereo imaging is so precise it is almost unbelievable. I bought some Auralex MoPad Monitor Isolation Pads and two 20' Live Wire TRS - XLR(M) Patch Cables (balanced), and the sound is clear, just, and precise. The casings on the monitors are made really well, and you can literally hold your hand on top of the monitor while music is playing and hardly even feel/sense the vibration from the speakers within. I recommend these for excellent sound representation in your studio. They way 25 lbs. each, so for [$] free shipping these are a steal.

Side by side with my KRK V8s series2 I am very impressed. Very smooth highs. Solid low end. Clear mids. Adjustable to taste.I have everything at "normal" but the room comensation does make a difference and could come in handy. Nothing bad to say at all.
