Comments about Redrock Micro microPod Accessory Plate:

I purchased this to create a flat base on the rear of my DSLR rig where I could then place accessories like the Blackmagic HDMI-SDI converter. I covered it with velcro(soft-side) and was then able to mount other items, also covered with hard-side velcro, to the back of my rig, out of the way.

Comments about Redrock Micro microPod Accessory Plate:

Picked this up to go with my Captain Stubling rig to allow for quick transfer from handheld to tripod. I do a lot of run and gun shooting where time is of the essence. Having the ability to pop my 60D on and off without removing the entire rig is worth every penny.

Comments about Redrock Micro microPod Accessory Plate:

I use the microPod plate as a base plate for my EOS 7D. I was looking for a solution to get a base plate and to have the 15mm rod holders, which come as standard. The plate itself has lots of accessory holes, both 1/4 AND 3/8. It is quite heavy, on my mind, a little too heavy, because in use with hdslr´s every gramm counts. One hole wasn´t drilled properly, so I had to grade it by myself with a little force.....but it works now. I put a Manfrotto cameraplate
unbeneath and use it with 2 self-mouldet handgrips. Good design, on my case I customized it so that I can use it fast on handheld and on tripod.

Comments about Redrock Micro microPod Accessory Plate:

Works as directed. I utilized it as a base plate for my dslr on rails. Slightly cheaper than actual base plate but same cheese plate design. difference is no shim kit for raising the rails. Well made attaches to tripod screw. Needed to be cleaned at factory. Metal shavings from milling process were found in the female end of the 15mm rail clamps. Blew the particles out and worked fine. Just would be nice if I didn't have to clean a 100 plus dollar metal part. Planning on attaching another micro clamp to the back of the plate so there are four points of contact on the rails and no chance of shake/bend in rails.
