[$]:(Sadly though, the construction is not that great, I literally broke a piece off within 5 minutes of receiving the package. The height adjustment knob came fell off since I did not know how to use the tripod, used a bit too much force and broke due to cheap plastic. I've super glued it over 10 times already since I keep breaking it off, decided to reinforce it with some tape, and so far have been more careful. I have a feeling, the metal used to manufacture this tripod is the kind where, if you dent it, you won't be able to easily open and close it anymore.Besides the build quality, it is still a [$] tripod.I actually like it besides these drawbacks. I don't do a lot of tripod photography, otherwise I'd invest more. I only use this when I go shooting at night, which is not often. The only time I realized why build quality really mattered while shooting was at pier in the middle of the night. The Pacific Ocean is pretty windy depending on time of the day, and I'm sure the tripod would've flown away if I didn't have a steady grip. Overall though, if it's not windy, and you just want a flat controllable surface occasionally, this is a great buy. Just gotta be careful with it. Oh ya, forgot to mention, the height adjustments are also pretty amazing to me. I am about 6'1', and so far, it does a dang good job at keeping up with my needs. A very satisfied customer.

I got this tripod mainly for travel, because it is so light. It is very flimsy and wobbles with any hint of wind or other movement. The pan/tilt is not smooth at all, so I wouldn't recommend this for video. Weighted down the stability might be a little better, but since the lower extension is thinner than my pinky(and I don't have big hands), I feel like the thing will snap with weights.Anyone buying this tripod is either doing so because it's light and its' cheap. It is both of those things. I wouldn't expect much more from it though. I'll give it 3 stars because of the weight and the fact that it's only [$]

Bought this for a feather weight camcorder. Telescoping legs with tabs to lock them in place. Weighs less than 2 pounds. I would not put a DSLR with a giand zoom lens on it. I think max weight is approximately 3.5 pounds, but my camcorder with battery installed doesn't even weigh 1 pound. Has rotating everything on top so you can position the camera in every conceivable way. For what I paid it is definitely a bargain. Some plastic parts here and there, but I seriously doubt a few ounces will stress them to the point of failing or breaking.

I very rarely use a tripod so for me this product is great. Its super light, easy to set up and use. If you mainly photograph holding camera and only have limited need for the tripod this product gets the job done at the right price. If you are someone who is going to set the camera on the tripod and not need to move the head around much its great, but if you have the need to have the camera on the tripod and reposition the head of the tripod quickly & often I would invest in something a little higher quality. This product is well made and reliable for light use.

It was exactly what I needed, an inexpensive tripod for a small time-lapse camera. I had to weigh it down with a sandbag so the wind wouldn't knock it over. Very light-weight, but sturdy enough for a small camera. Would be great for backpacking.

1 star is too many. bought this to use as a compact light stand for using strobes in tight spots. Junk - even at the cheap price. nearly lost a strobe using this thing.

Purchased as a "cheap" back up for a camping trip - planned on taking night photos and did not want to lug our "big" way more expensive tripod. The Sunpak 5200D was perfect! Used it for both our film and digital cameras. Folds down to perfect size to fit into our backpack. Actually using for more than the "one time" use we planned on. Suggest great for travel use or if need to transport a very light tripod.

I am a rank amateur and ordered a cheap tripod for a project at the university where I teach. The tripod cost almost nothing, arrived in 2 days and performed perfectly. It is sturdy but lightweight, adjusts easily and folds efficiently.

This tripod costs less than and has all of the features of some costing over $100. Super light weight, folds up small, very stable, quick release camera mount, will support cameras over 3 lbs, solid construction, locking individually adjustable legs, articulating feet, built in levels and so inexpensive that you will not be upset if you lose or damage it (though it is pretty solidly built). Excellent tripod.

This is a decent tripod, not incredibly sturdy, but good enough for general photography and film. I would imagine under heavy use, this tripod would take a beating but as long as you use it wisely, it's a good tripod for the price.

First off, item was really well packaged, came with instructions and operation manuals. Fitted my Canon EOS T3 without problems, legs can be extended up to 4' high and retractable enough to be carried without a hassle. Really love it!!!

Very lightweight, portable, tripod. It works exactly as described. It is so lightweight that I'm worried about it breaking, but the construction is mainly metal. The adjustments are a little hard to control, but it was $17.

Purchased the lightest weight SLR I could find. Was very pleased since this is a feather weight compared to other tripod. Connection screw was easier to thread onto my E600. Purchased the quick release plate to go with this tripod as I plan to use it for shooting bands and thier audiences.

Use this for a small video camera and Digital SLR. Works great. I haven't used many different brands so not much for me to compare it to but this works well for holding the camera and keeping it still and level. I purchased for a low cost tripod for basic use and I am happy with the tripod

Used for hiking, I was looking for a quick and easy lightweight tripod. This lashes under my Lowe Inverse and I forget it is there. It comes with one quick release shoe so don't buy one unless you are using for more than one camera.
