This tripod was a PLEASANT SURPRISE at a very affordable price point. Found myself using it for everything. Then winter came. The plastic joints tighten-up and any adjustment becomes difficult. No biggie, we adjust to accommodate. However, last night it was 10 degrees and it is HARD to tighten my up/down adjustment. Eventually, as I was twisting to tighten the screw turned the plastic threads into powder. We will see 2nite if that Warranty works!

I originaly got this tripod to use with a small Canon HG21 video camera. Perfect! But then that camera was lost. I had been using the video camera mostly to shoot stills, so I replaced it with a Canon 60D with an EF 28-135. I'm a little wary of using this heavy rig on this less-than-pro tripod. It's a great tripod as long as you don't push its limits. Certainly worth the price.

Comments about Sunpak 6200DX Digital Tripod (Black):

I bought this tripod for a travel tripod. It fit the needs by being light weight and was able to fit in the suitcase. After only setting it up four times, one of the leg braces broke a the center hinge. Taking it back to the camera store.

Comments about Sunpak 6200DX Digital Tripod (Black):

This tripod was included in a kit purchased with a new camcorder. Even locked down, this is a very shaky tripod. Additionally, there doesn't seem to be a lock on the crank that elevates the center post. I have a Bogen tripod and didn't need this; perhaps the kit could be upgraded with a better tripod, or perhaps another accessory.

The product came in on time and is working as expected.

The only advantage/disadvantage is that it has some metal ends that when using it outdoors it becomes useful but using indoors in wood floors is not ideal as it could scratch the floor.

Basically 1/2 our tripods fell apart with little to moderate use. The head fell off one of them. The legs broke on another. Wouldn't buy again. Have had success with other Sunpak tripods. These barely got a 1/10th of a percent of the use of the last set we bought.

Comments about Sunpak 6200DX Digital Tripod (Black):

This is a great tripod for the money...absolutely. I'm using both a Canon T3i and an old Canon A1 on it and it performs well with both. Easy to set-up and I especially like the fact you can lock the legs in the open position, a feature a lot of tripods in this price range don't have. The carrying case was a pleasant surprise. All in all, I'd recommend this tripod to everybody.

A beauty among all the tripods that I have tested before. If you have a heavy lens, then just use this tripod.

I would love to give 5 star for this product, but had to remove one star because of its weight. Now don't think it is very heavy. Just that a lighter frame would have made life easier.

It's been a while since I've bought a tri-pod this size; love that it's so much lighter. The "snap release" is also very nice. I'm an amateur but this tri-pod feels like a pro.
