The Pentax Mount Adapter K allows a Takumar screw mount lens to attach to a Pentax K mount camera.
Note! With this adapter the automatic diaphragm will not work, so meter reading must be made with the lens aperture stopped down.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
I was given a takumar macro lens with a screw mount. Discovered that an adapter was available for my K-5. Why throw away good glass? The adapter worked great.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
Glad to see these back in stock. I remove the clip and screw them on to my M42 lenses to make the lens a K mount. You have to be a bit careful because the will no longer clip into place and therefore it is possible for the lens to fall off you camera. But in practice the lens is snuggly attached to the camera and I have never had an issue with the lens coming unmounted.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
It's a bit expensive, but it's reliable, adapts M42 lenses to my K-mount camera (K-r), and it doesn't jam like the generic one I had did.
It's very strong, and very precise machining, capable of mounting a heavy Dietz 28-80mm f/3.5 zoom without problem. It can also be removed without special tools, unlike the generics.
It's pricy, but it's the only M42 adapter that works flawlessly. I'd buy another one for another camera if I needed one.
Only issue I have is that stop-down metering is horribly inaccurate with my Takumar lenses, but that can be fixed with a +3EV compensation or no compensation in Live View. Not a problem with the adapter, just Pentax's buggy code.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
I use the Mount Adapter K to mechanically link early screw mount lens (Pentax) to K mount flang found on digital SLR cameras like Pentax K-5.
The adapter, bearing the Pentax brand fits well in all aspects; whereas, knock-off brand I have tried has mechanically jamb on my K-5. Recommend removing the adapter spring clip so lens and adapter can easily be removed together from digital body.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
There are some cheaper versions of this by other manufacturers, but most reviews recommended to stick with the Pentax model and I'm pleased I did. It was simple to install and remove, and had none of the issues I'd read about for the cheaper alternatives.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
It was a little bit confusing for me what adapter to chose but once I got it it is perfect, works very well. Now i can use my old lenses like my Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4 on my Pentax K100D.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
Mounts flush with body, providing the proper flange distance. Better construction than the third-party units floating around. But, the construction is still not the greatest. I had heard rumors that these were brass, but that seems unlikely — the metal is rather soft, soft enough that I'm rather convinced it's aluminum. Could be SS, I suppose. Anyway, unlike the cheap adaptors that come with a tool, you need to find your own solution for releasing this from the camera body when you're done with it. The literature suggests a ballpoint pen tip, I have none of those around. Even if I did, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable prodding them around my mirror box… Point is, you need to find something at the time to put in the release, and the soft metal will seemingly get dinged up a bit from this. I don't think this will ruin it in time, but it's not going to stay immaculate for long. Still definitely recommend this genuine article over the cheap ones…

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
The Pentax K mount adapter is the best option for mounting M42 screw lenses to a Pentax DSLR, the price at B&H is highly competitive and this product outshines all the other cheaper replicas. Highly recommended.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
Now made in the Philippines but the fit and finish appears to as good as those manufactured in Japan bearing the Asahi Pentax label and for 1/2-1/3 the asking price for NOS/Used. Doesn't jam like the 3rd party knockoffs.

This adapter works well for securing M42 lenses to
my K mount DSLR. This adapter makes it easy to install and remove legacy Pentax glass on your K mount camera. I highly recommend the K adapter from Pentax.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
I am using this for the SMC takumar lens I got on the net used. It works and right now having no problems. Others have problems with this mount. Second it was sent very quickly I give praise to B&H in that they are fast shipers I dare say the fastest even faster than the Big A!, if you know who I mean.
Their customer service is very good.
Things I do not like about it, even thought it works have yet to figure out if it is a knock off or original pentax part. But it works. It could fit better in the camera. You must be real carefull putting it in. Whether it is original part or not it could fit better should be seamless. But that is not B&H fault it is the part makers fault. I might have given it one too many stars but the extra star for service and arriving quickly.

Comments about Pentax Mount Adapter K:
I use this adapter to attach a Pentax 55mm Takumar screw mount lens (from about 1964-65) to my K10D. It is well made and easy to use.
The only minor negative is that it attaches to the camera mount rather than to the lens and I have to release a little latch on the mount to remove it. Not a problem really but takes an extra few seconds to reattach a K-Mount lens.
