The Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring is custom-made by Cinevate to allow Nikon AI F-mount lenses to fit on a Canon EOS camera, including the popular 5D Mark III and 7D DSLRs. Constructed of long-lasting chrome-plated brass, the adapter ring gives your Canon SLR access to a large line of quality optics, from Nikon's own top-notch lenses to such third-party stalwarts as the Zeiss ZF primes, which have a Nikon lens mount. With this simple adapter, you'll more than double your camera's optical versatility, while maintaining each lens' focal length and full focusing ability, from macro to infinity. Please note that this mount does not allow for electronic aperture control and is not compatible with non-AI Nikon lenses.

This adapter works perfectly between my 5DMkIII and all of my old Nikon lenses. The camera warns each time live view is activated, but then is good to go. I have had very little trouble removing the adapter, though sometimes I forget which way to turn. The use of these lenses, along with a follow focus rig, have brought my video production to a new level of deliberate manual control. This is NOT for those who rely on auto focus, or auto exposure, as there is no communication between camera and lens.

Well... this has been thoroughly reviewed. Major cons are few, but important: lens does rattle once it is affixed, as others have noted. But more importantly: the iris tab on the back of older NIKKOR lenses extends a little further into the body of the camera than the newer ones do. So if you accidentally try to remove the lens while your Canon is in live-view mode, like I did, that tab will break the focusing screen inside your camera. That's bad. Cinevate has since included a warning about this on their website: that's because of me.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
Great for turning old, cheap, prime Nikon lenses into effective tools for achieving unique looks for shooting on my Canon 5D Mark ii. It's easy to use, had a locking device so you don't have to worry about the lense coming lose with some of the cheaper adapter rings. Getting it on requires a tiny bit of force, something I hate when dealing with old glass and my camera body, but has shown no cosmetic wear and always comes off easily.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
I have a large collection of Nikon non AI lenses. This adapter works beautifully in mounting them on my T3i. Fit is a tiny bit loose on some of the longer/heavier lenses but still WELL within tolerances. Infinity focus is maintained. I didn't need to remove the meter coupling pin on any of my lenes. If you want to use old Nikon F mount lenses on your Canon t2i t3i t4i etc... get this adapter, it works fine.
*warning* I have one lens labeled "N/AIS" and it does NOT fit on this adapter. Other then that, I have been using my eight other Nikon manual lenses for over a week with no complaints.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
Fits well onto the lens with the nikon mount, but there is much too loose on the camera mount. I am using the Zeiss ZF.2's on Canon 5D & 7D bodies. they are ok as a cheap option (no falling off the release as yet!) but if you are looking for something with good lasting quality, this is not it.

After working in production in Los Angeles for several years I learned how important it is to control your manual focus (at least for HD video purposes) and to have a quality piece of glass on your camera. Canon users- this product is your solution- an inexpensive 52mm adapter for Canon bodies that opens a whole world of lenses to your disposal. I am the proud owner of a canon 7d with limited prime canon lens options however do own a good deal of nikon primes so I purchased 1 and loved the adapter so much I purchased a two more to allow additional flexibility.
Did a two camera shoot for a corporate client within their facility and they were extremely impressed with my ability to adapt the framing to any room size and depth with ease.

I have three of these and it has been updated since I first bought one.
The older one is fine but is not as sturdy as the updated version which is even better and secures the lenses much more firmly and restricts any movement to just the tiniest bit.
Additionally, this new one has a much more defined red marking to line up the adapter with the Canon body.

I received an old nikkor hc 50mm lens and really wanted to use it with my rebel t2i. This adapter does the job, holding the lens snugly and attaches to the canon body with no problem. Only problem I have is the difficulty there seems to be removing the adapter from the lens itself. Not that big of a deal though since I don't have any other camera bodies I can use the glass with. Overall this product has opened my eyes to the benefits of old glass. Looking forward to collecting some more old Nikon lenses.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
This works just fine but be aware of the fact that lenses which don't have a manual f/stop ring will be impossible to control from a Canon camera.
This is basically good to use with older Nikon lenses or with lenses with manual f/stop all other newer Nikon lenses are impossible to use unless you change the f/stop in a Nikon camera first.
It looks solid and gets the job done, so far so good.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
I bought a while ago a Dot Line adaptor to mount Nikon lens to my 40D, one of the worst purchase I made. It cost me [$], fit is very loose and it does not even give me infinity focus. Last time I check, it is not available anymore, but don`t buy it if it comes back. If you're considering it for its lower price, give a chance to the Chinese ones on eBay.So down with the Cinevate one. I wanted to go for something better, and tighter. I chose this one because I could see all the comments saying it was very tight. The result: definitely better than the Dot Line one, but not perfect. It fit all the Nikon lens I have and gives me infinity focus (even made me realise that one lens needed to have infinity focus adjusted). The con side now... it is still lose a bit. With the 20, 28 and 50 mm, the loose if almost imperceptible, read I could live with it. But with the 100mm Macro (heavy lens)... you hear a metal click when I move the camera around. Another Con but I would say a small one, the rear caps are difficult to put one. Usually, EOS rear cap fits in loosely then gets tight when you turn to lock. I have 3 different caps (Canon, Fotodiox and Generic) and they are all difficult to put on, some more than others.A last small detail, When I first installed the adaptor, it did not lock in place. I had to play with it and even push the locking pin in place with a small screw driver. But for some reason, I don`t have this trouble anymore. Bottom line, it`s a good adaptor, but think twice if it is for a manual lens on the heavy side... Or maybe I got a bad copy. For my part, I will probably go for a Fotodiox pro to fit the 100 Macro. Got one for a Leica and the fit is as I expect it to be, like the one I have with EOS lenses, but, at a premium.Final word, for those buying there first Nikon to EOS adaptor, the design is not made to share the adaptor but rather have one for each lens.

I got this to adapt a 50mm 1.8 E Series lens onto my 5d Mark ii. It fits onto the lens very snuggly and onto the camera like it's a canon lens. There is no play. Full functionality of the manual controls are present/ I can focus to infinity.

So far so good, I bought this adapter to attach a Nikkor 50mm f1.2 to a canon t2i. I haven't had any problems with it. I plan to keep this adapter on the lens forever, so I can't write a review about taking the adapter off. For the price, I can't complain.

Comments about Cinevate Inc Nikon F to Canon EOS Adapter Ring:
I purchased the Nikon adapter to use with my T3i, with a Tamron 28-200 lens. The Tamron is a manual only focus, with manual apeture settings. I was able to control the apeture and focus just fine when the lens is not attached to the camera body, but the seal was very tight, and it took me two hands to adjust the apeture while the lens was on the camera body. My friend purchased the same ring, and it is a little loose on his camera, but I did not want to damage my equiptment, so I returned the ring.

Works great for prime lenses because it only WORKS for PRIME LENSES. If you're looking to adjust your iris at any point, make sure the lens that you're using has its own dial.
Otherwise it does its job.

I bought two of these adapters after trying the auction site cheapies. Unlike the cheapies, these adapters provide a tight, secure fit for my Nikon AI-s lenses when mounted to my Canon EOS bodies. There is no wiggle or sloppiness at all. Best of all, My 1DS and 1DMKII cameras seem to love my Nikon lenses. Exposures are great.

I use my Nikon AI'd lenses on my Canon 5d Mark III.Doesn't support auto-focus (a given), but I only use manual for video anyways.Contrary to other reviewers I find it is actually pretty easy to remove the ring. I can do it in 5 seconds. It's actually harder finding the right way to put the ring on.With Nikkor glass it only clicks and locks on the lens 1 of 3 ways. I often have to try all 3 ways before it locks on. The ring is solid, and high quality, the lenses do not move or have focusing issues once it's installed. Full range focus works just fine.I bought 4, none have broken or had any issues. I highly recommend.
