I do multi cam recording on some projects with schools, churches and sports activities, and the eGo 1TB hard drive is absolutely a big plus. Before I'd be bombarded with labeling tapes and batch capturing. I use 3 PD-170s for my projects. By connecting the 1TB eGo to my laptop with Adobe On Location installed, I can work on my projects in a flash. Cuts my post production time in more than half.

Just got it and reformatted it for Mac. Did our first backup on Time Machine and it seems to be working fine.
The only thing is the step-by-step reformatting instructions left out one click in applying the settings, which I guess is pretty obvious.

I plugged this into an HP running Windows 7 and it was recognized immediately, installed and ready to use in under 30 seconds. I knew it came with a backup software suite, but I was unaware that it also came with a 1 year subscription to Trend Micro Internet Security. So, even though the price was great without the software or antivirus, it was even better with it. Highly recommended.

I bought this desktop hard drive to back up my photos, videos and music. I don't plan to download any of the trial programs and am not doing scheduled backups--only occasional ones. This hard drive is just what I found in reviews--not really fast but not extremely slow either. It plugged and played in my XP Pro desktop and my vista Home Prem. laptop. The drive is used for weekly backups. It was super easy to install, just plug and play. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't shut down when the system shuts down. You have to manually turn it off.

i used this with my imac and in the instructions it has you reformat the drive, i thought oh fun i'm not a computer wiz, but plugged it in and it was super easy to install and have up and running in no time. very easy to use and i now have a complete back up of everything on the computer. hopefully i will never have to use it to its full capabilities, but its there just in case. i have already recommended to friends and will continue.

Out of the box, it works. Just hooked it up and bang, it was up and running. The only impedance was getting my Mac to read/write to the NTFS formatted drive. It could see it and read the contents, just couldn't save files to it.Have no fear: NTFS-3G [...] worked like a charm. Just download and install on your Mac. Connect the drive and bang, it now worked!It is unbelievably quiet and has a nice little activity light on the side. The one I have is a bright blue. Beautiful on the desktop, but does seem to scuff easy. But this baby takes the data and keeps on taking it. Seems to be no end in sight. Never knew how much storage 1TB was till now.So far so good, only been a few weeks and have consolidated my various other drives to this one. I feel confident that it will last. No issues so far. My only wish is that you could find a hybrid firewire/usb drive for the same price. Now that would be fantastic!
