Bought this for light protection while out on city hikes. It fits my Canon 50D with battery grip and 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens well. The cover fits well over the standard camera strap locations but is a bit quirky with the OP/TECH Sling Strap. Either way, the cover is fairly easy to remove but will take a little practice putting it on.

I got this pouch so I can toss my dslr (with lens attached) into my backpack without worrying about bumping or scratching. The pouch works well for my kit of d800 with a 50mm lens; in fact there is enough room in the front to fit a body with 120mm lens on it.

The only qualm's I have is for the use case where I want to quickly pull out or put back the camera from the pouch when it is sitting in my bag. I can't do it easily without taking out the pouch first. There is a V shaped opening on the back of the pouch where the camera goes in. To put the camera in you have to insert it from the top of the pouch at an angle, else it wouldn't go through the opening. Pulling it out also requires pulling at an angle. This makes it inconvenient on the street. You end up in the awkward position with the pouch on one hand, camera on other, and a half open bag hanging from your back.

But this is great for protecting your camera and taking it in a normal backpack without the need for a fancy dslr bag.

Comments about D-Pro Zoom SLR, Soft Pouch - Digital D Series (Black):

Had been looking for a soft pouch or silicon case, to fit my EOS 1DC with lens attached a few months. I used to use silicon Body armor for my 5D2, however they do not make one for the 1D series. Most pouches or small camera bag size can only fit a DSLR without a battery grip or Canon 1D and Nikon D4.

This pouch fit my 1DC together with Canon 16-35L, 28-135 ISUSM, 24-105L, 70-300DO, the bigger lens shade need to turn round to fit.
Also it fit my Kodak ProDSLR 14N with a Sigma 20mm F/1.8

I also bought a similar pouch from Lens Coat, neoprene of this one feel thicker and probably offer marginally better protection. This one do not a extra pad at the lens to protect the lens. Though the pouch from Lens coat is easier to put on.

There is a strap to attach the pouch to the camera, it either attached to the lens or the tripod mount at the bottom of the camera. Both method do not fit my usage. The rubber ring to attach to the lens is too tight fit for a EF mount, may be F-mount better so lens changing is not easy. The tripod mount is good, provided you do not need to attach a tripod to your camera. I end up using the rubber ring to tie the strap to my camera strap. The lens coat one only come with a simple strap to tied to the camera strap.

Since it is black, it is easy to match your daily wear, excellent for traveling.

Exchanged the pouch for the non-pro version. I use it with a Nikon D800/24-70mm 2.8 combo. This pro version has room for a battery pack. The non-pro version does not, but in my case, my camera fits in nice and tight. The pouch does a very nice job protecting the camera from scratches and bumps when I drop it in my backpack (regular backpack). Love the product, I'd buy it again.

This pouch is very easy to use and well thought of. It slides rapidly on to the camera and a very convenient attachement allows you to use the camera without bothering about it while taking pictures.
It well protect the camera for day to day use.
A critique for the 2 buttons to close it are not that rapid to use.
I would definitely buy it again. Very good value for a reasonable price.

I use this case over my Pentax K-5 to carry in my backpack and keep it safe around the house. It's very light weight and functions just as I had expected. It is a bit big, I could have gotten a smaller size, but since it's so light, doesn't add to the weight. Perhaps I'll have a bigger zoom in the future and it will be just right. I have a 18-135mm lens on my camera most of the time.

I have the Cannon 7D with a 24-70mm lens and this pouch is covers it perfectly. Its exactly what i need when i place my DSLR in a non camera bag. I am sailor and when i go to shore i use a dry bag that protects from the water but not from impact. This pouch gives me the impact protection that i need when sailing and at restaurant bars.

I use this pouch for my Canon T2i + battery grip + 18-135mm lens. It's a little loose all around, but I still love this pouch. I am not a big fan of clunky camera bags/backpacks. This pouch adds no extra volume or weight to the camera, and protects it from dust, light rain, etc. Highly recommended.

Comments about D-Pro Zoom SLR, Soft Pouch - Digital D Series (Black):

So for me this was perfect! I wanted something that would be good for wearing my 5D with a zoom lens (the 24-70mm L) that wasn't the bulkiest thing alive. Great for bike rides, walking around and sightseeing. There is a little snap that screws onto the tripod screw thing on the bottom of the camera and attaches to the inside of the camera so when you take off the cover there is no need to have to hold it. Also if you are going backpacking or traveling and want one camera, and one lens, this will provide some protection in your backpack. A bonus is that I no longer get those annoying hip bruises from my camera banging into me in a crowd. Obviously there is no real protection if you drop it or spill an entire beer on it but it's right for me!

I use this for the times when i just want to bring the camera and one lens. It fits a D300 with grip and a short telephoto such as the 18-200. It is secure and gives decent protection. It will also protect against light rain. It is secured from the tripod mount or by the lens.
