I bought this bag for a specific purpose - traveling light with minimal equipment and having quick sling access. Being the smallest bag in this series, it's not meant to cram loads of gear in -- keep that in mind. However, if you want to protect your gear AND travel lite, this bag will work well. It has a built-in rain cover and tripod strap system. This is what I carry in it: Nikon D7000, attached 28-300mm lens, Hoya 77mm rubber lens hood, spare memory cards, wireless remote trigger, Hoodman loupe, Hakuba hand strap, spare battery, 77mm polarizer, 77mm vari-ND filter, lenspens, rocket blower, cleaning cloths, Black Rapid strap, Op/Tech camera rain covers, Gary Fong popup flash diffuser and a few personal misc items. The camera, filters & battery go in the lower compartment, everything else in the upper one. My bag weights in at less than 7 lbs -- a little more if I take a beanbag tripod. I usually don't carry a tripod with this bag but I can strap a jacket there instead when needed. This bag gets it done for me when I want to travel lite. The downsize to this bag is that it is small so you can't carry all your gear. But when's the last time you saw a lady carry her suitcase purse to a cocktail party?

I travel a lot and decided to buy a slingshot bag for my SLR. I have two Olympus lenses and one of my telephoto is too big to fit. Perhaps not most of SLR lenses will fit into this bag. Very convinient to carry. Most pockets have use on it and the best part, it has a place to put your tripod. Like I said very simple yet needs more adjustment. There's another version of this but it looks very bulky to wear. Maybe a little adjustments inside the area of the lenses and camera will be a perfect idea.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
I am currently taking a digital photography class at school so I am lugging my gear back and forth every other day...kind of a pain. Plus, we have a big vacation coming up in a month so I was looking for something compact, but will still carry my gear. I am so glad I found this product...It has everything I was looking for and more. I especially love the fact that there is enough space for my extra lens, cords, etc. AND personal space for cash, phone, ID, etc. I will only need to carry this one bag! I also love all the little bonus compartments and the raincoat.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
I use this as the main bag for my camera and 3 total lenses. It's light, comfortable to carry, easy to access and is very functional. I used to have a top loading bag but find this has better protection and with the way you can section it off for different sized lenses makes it that much better.

Great product. Skied five days at Vail using this bag to bring my Nikon D3200 around with me. Easy access, sturdy design, felt secure to my body while skiing all sorts of terrain.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
I bought this because my old bag had worn out, and so far, it's worked great, but it isn't quite as advertised. The dividers are removable, but not really adjustable. Also, when you swing the bag around to access your equipment, it's easy to reach the camera, but not the lenses or accessory pockets. I can fit one lens and a flash in, but the flash has to be bent over, and I don't see any way you could fit a long lens in. Lastly, the tripod strap isn't really for tripods; it can only fit a very small tripod or a monopod. It's still a good bag, though. There's plenty of room for accessories, and I like the sling design.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
Don't get me wrong, this is a well made, substantial, attractive-looking camera bag--it just wasn't configured with a woman's body in mind at all. No matter how I adjusted it, the straps still fit me in awkward places and was crushing and uncomfortable. And flinging it around to the front to access the camera was even worse. And with a coat, forget it, not do-able. Sorry, gals, unless you are, shall we say, "not well developed," keep looking, or better yet try bags on in the store. I bought online and sorry I did. It's going back.

Fits my D7000 with 18-200mm lens on it along with a 35mm lens, room for a flash, small rocket blower (though would fit the medium too), lenspen, micro cloth (even though it has one built in), all the cables that come with the camera, pockets for extra memory cards and the body and lens covers.
The built in rain over is kinda cool too. I bought the Op/tech utility strap sling as well.
The D7000 fits with the 18-200mm on it, just barely. Anything larger and I would not feel comfortable with anything bigger. Any more equipment and you'll also want something bigger.
Nice addition with the tripod holder as well.
Solid construction, easy to open, nice soft features inside for protection too.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
The slingshot design is very nice for having my camera accessible as well as protected. I run a doggy business so I'm on the go with dogs, and need to be able to get to my camera or put it away very quickly. I prefer a backpack style camera bag, but I haven't found one that fits the camera, has some storage but is still on the smaller side like the 102AW, so the Slingshot seems to be the next best thing. Also, I love the extra cross-strap (not the main padded strap, but the additional, small cross-strap). It helps distribute the weight better (not as well as a backpack, but pretty good), and I can bend over to do stuff with the dogs without the camera bag hitting me in the head. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because I would like the extra cross-strap to attach to the main padded strap at my waist and not around my chest (I'm a woman and it's very unsightly to have the strap crossing my chest literally at my breast. It's slightly adjustable but that's just a choice between it crossing my breast and squishing it in two, or crossing just below my breast and squishing it upward). This extra strap at my waist would also allow much of the weight to rest on my hips and not my shoulder, and because it's optional, those that didn't want that could leave it unattached.
Overall, love the design, how it protects the camera, and love that I can retrieve the camera without flaps unzipping so far that I literally have to "catch" the camera on the way out. The orientation of the bag when it's swung around to get the camera in or out is perfect - it's level, and like I said, I can control how far the compartment flap opens, so the camera never comes flying out.

I am very amature in the world of photography. I bought this with traveling in mind. It fits all of my gear perfectly! It has many storage possibilities plus looks, feels and travels great!
A little too cramped to use as a day bag though...

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
This is a very comfortable camera bag that helps you get the shot you want quickly. The way it is designed to rotate on your body so the camera is accessible is awesome. I've owned another backpack type camera gear bag and I was constantly having to remove it and set down the bag or hand to a friend before taking a shot, now I just slide it around and grab my camera! It has lots of compartments too, so you can have all your necessary optional camera items as well as hold personal stuff & snacks. The bag is not super huge so don't expect to carry all of your arsenal, but it is great for day trips when you are out and about. I am able to fit my SLR, 18-25mm lens & 70-300 mm lens. It also has small compartments for memory cards that are handy. If you take your camera 'out' a lot I would recommend this item.

Have a Cannon t3i with a 55-250 lens attached and it fits nicely. I can also carry my 18-55mm lense, charger and instruction book so I can RTFM everyday.
Bag is very secure and well put together
fits nicely
only downside is I can see it being heavy after a long period of wear, but the ease of access makes up for it

A great bag for urban exploring and short trips but not great if you plan on bringing alot of equipment. Yea you can hold a dslr and 2 small lenses but then no flash. its abit small but thats the way I decided to go. Alot of gadgets on it, i.e. rain cover.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Camera Bag:
I was looking for a replacement camera bag when the original I inherited from the previous owner began to fall apart. My kit includes a nikon d5000 with 3 lenses - the two kit lenses and a 50mm f1.8.
All of this fits reasonably well in the Slingshot 102 AW, with one problem - the zipper pouch intended for the camera and lenses was not designed with enough vertical space for the lenses to comfortably stand up inside. This results in the lenses pushing against the opening to the compartment, and, I suspect, will lead to earlier wear-and-tear.
For the time being, however, the bag is comfortable, makes the camera feel a whole lot lighter, fits pretty much all the equipment I use regularly, and doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a murse. The side-access to the camera compartment is particularly helpful.

I live in Los Angeles and love shooting on the street and this bag allows me to carry what is needed for a day of taking pics and even a lunch in a low key convenient way. It wont manage a battery grip or a big lens ..but does handle my flash and even lunch etc...well constructed and it fits.. a great bag for the bucks.
