This is a nice product and its pretty compact for an under water case. I haven't had a chance yet to take it diving, but it works well in any water setting. (If using part out of water, like in a swimming pool, you will get water spots on the lense/photos, but there is no way to avoid it unless you wipe off the lense before each use.) The underwater photos seem to be good. The one negative is you can't read the button identifications well on the case, you pretty much have to memorize which button does what.

Comments about WP-DC36 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot SD1300:

At first I was not convinced that a housing could be as easy to use and as effective as this one. The instruction were very clear and camera was easily fitted into the housing. The pictures I took with the camera were excellent and the housing also me to use all features of the camera. Cleaning the housing after use was no problem.

Comments about WP-DC36 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot SD1300:

Purchased this case as an upgrade to my old Powershot S400 with underwater case. Took this case down to 50' deep on two dives and no problems whatsoever. I used a tiny bit of silicone grease provided. These are well made cases and I've yet to have a problem with them.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with your camera interface before hopping in the water. The button labels on the case are hard to read underwater.

I just wish Canon could make their cameras/cases consistent so that I didn't have to buy a new case every time I buy a new point & shoot.

One piece of advice: particularly if you are snorkeling or diving in colder water, you may want to pack some desiccant in the case with the camera. Otherwise you may have condensation problems on the lens window. This isn't a problem with the case, it is just a fact of life. I experienced this problem several times with my older canon p/s underwater case when snorkeling in the Galapagos. There isn't much room inside the DC-WP36 case, but there is enough for a small desiccant pack.

Comments about WP-DC36 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot SD1300:

I searched long for a low cost camera that I can take scuba diving and finally decided for the SD1300 with the Canon housing. So far I have not been disappointed. Loading is easy and all camera buttons can be accessed. The housing makes a very sturdy impression. Markings are difficult to read, so you better practice the function of each button. The camera has an underwater mode to adjust colors.
To test the water seal, I handed the camera to my kids to take it in the pool. They shot some fantastic underwater pictures that are already worth the investment. As for greater depths, I will test this in a couple of months in Mexico.

I bought this so for a trip Scuba diving and snorkeling in the Galapagos. I haven't left on my trip yet, but I can say a few things:
                - This case is a lot smaller than one I used to have with an old point and shoot. The size is definitely a plus, as are the easy-to-read labeling for all of the buttons.
                - I tested it out in my bathroom and everything work great. Of course, it's not quite the same as bringing it on a dive at 80 feet, but I'm excited to try it out.

My husband and I took our new WP-DC36 underwater housing for our Canon PowerShot (SD1300) scuba diving and snorkeling off of Maui. We used it every day during our trip. The underwater photos look great and we even filmed a few under water movie clips. We were down to 75 ft and were able to get some unforgettable photos of sea life. The inside of the case will get a little foggy if you are using it outside of the water in a humid climate like Hawaii, but that's easy to fix (just make sure case is dry and take the camera out for non-water photos). We also like the size of the case, especially compared to some other options out there.[...] Great buy, I know we will be using it a bunch. Of course, read instructions before using for optimal use; how to clean case, store case, silica jell etc...

I used this housing for 4 dives over 2 days. Dives ranged between 55 and 92 feet in depth.

The control buttons worked perfectly and were very easy to use while in the water.

I did not buy the weights for the case and that was a mistake as i had to hold the camera the entire time or it would float and bump around.

Everything works fine! I was a little worried about image quality, but you can't even tell when you look at the images that it was taken through a case. I'd say the only obvious downside is that it makes the camera bulkier and a little bit more awkward to use. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. There were no leaks and it's a fairly inexpensive option to take photos underwater.

This case is awesome. I have no problems taking photos underwater. This case allows you to use all the features of the camera.
