The Don Zeck Lens Cap is unique in the world of lens accessories. It is the first lens cap designed with an ergonomic handle to help you both place and remove the cap. The advantage of this is obvious.
This cap can be used with a long hood in place. During such times, it can be difficult to use a traditional "snap on" lens cap. Using this particular, cleverly designed cap means that you can set up your long lens (that has a deep hood) and leave the cap on. Yet, when it comes time to actually shoot, all you need to do is grab the neat little handle, pull the cap off and you're ready to shoot. No more having to remove the hood or awkwardly reach inside the hood to try to unhook the cap.
The cap is held in place using six "O" rings that create a tight, perfect fit. In addition, the unique handle will compress to an ultra thin 3/16" when you store your lens in its case. The "O" rings never touch the lens surface and will not damage your lens. This cap is a thick design and will guard your optics from the damage that we all fear with long (or short) expensive lenses.

Comments about Don Zeck N10 Lens Cap for the Nikon 200mm f/2.0 VR, 300mm f/2.8 VR, 300mm f/2.8 AF-S (Black):
The slip-over lens "caps", if I can call them that, which Nikon supplies for its long lenses are a pain to get off and on in a hurry, and you have to store them somewhere while you're using the lens. These Don Zeck lens caps are a bit on the pricey side, but well worth the convenience they provide. I purchased one for my Nikkor 400mm, f2.8 and one for my Nikkor 300mm, f2.8 and they both work perfectly! When you're shooting sports, there's no time for the Nikon supplied "lens socks" (or whatever they're called) but these Don Zeck lens caps are GREAT!

This lens cap is the latest version that has been modified slighly over the old one and is a perfect fit.
I was quite amazed that a lens of such quality and price doesn't come with a lens cap.
I can leave the lens hood on and use the Don Zeck Lens Cap without having to put the sock on.
Very happy with the purchase.

Got this for my new 200mm f/2.0 VR lens, as well as LensCoat's XXX-large hoodie. The hoodie is nice when the lens hood is attached to the lens, but doesn't help much when it is off, or reversed for packing. That's when this lens cap is useful. It gives you assurance that the front lens is protected. Mine had a snug fit and the "finish" was fine. The handle necessarily protrudes, so you can remove the cap when the hood is on --- this prevents the lens from packing as flat as you might like in a backpack, but it's not a major issue.

Arrived with black plastic particles in bag and on unit. Rinsing under hot H2O dissolved cheep paper bar code label. Had to wipe down with mineral spirits to remove adhesive. Upon close inspection noticed unfinished trimming was required to make uniform. Used razor blade and nail file to finish. Attempted to use unit with Nikon 300mm Hood in place and had great difficulty in getting unit to seal/fit property. DO NOT BUY! POOR GUALITY! POOR FIT & FINISH! This is my second Zeck Cap. I had one for my Nikon 200-400 Zoom and it was a much better fit when used in the same way. It also required washing before use but it worked and I liked it much better. I wish I could recommend this one but I will be returning it! Will use a Lens Coat Hoodie instead.
