Comments about Voigtlander Heliar Ultra Wide-Angle 12mm f/5.6 Lens:
I'm using the lens on a Fuji X-Pro 1 which has an aps-c size sensor. I've been using it a lot lately while i've been traveling, and I really have no complaints except that it is slow. Not a problem in most cases, but most recently I was in a forest that had some beautiful stuff going on around magic hour, and I had to bust out the tripod in a hurry to catch some shots I wanted. Lens is awesome, produces great images, haven't noticed any vignetting, color aberration, or unacceptable softness as I read in other reviews. It's not perfect, but its the only one this wide out there with an m mount.

Comments about Voigtlander Heliar Ultra Wide-Angle 12mm f/5.6 Lens:
Very sharp central area. Very nice contrast. On the Sony NEX 7, there is some purple fringing on the outer areas, fixable in post processing.
Small, easy to focus, whenever focus is needed, which is seldom. I use a 67mm B&W XS-Pro clear filter over the bulb-like lens. I worried that there wasn't enough room for a filter above this lens, but the thin XS Pro does not vignette and protects the lens.
It is the equivalent of an 18mm on my camera, and I like the effect.

Comments about Voigtlander Heliar Ultra Wide-Angle 12mm f/5.6 Lens:
Well made and sharp as a tack. Some people complain about a Magenta cast but I can't see it. I was worried about manual focussing but the depth of field is so great that I don't see any issues arising. Does vignette in the corners, perhaps from my filter. Will have to try it without the filter to verify.

Comments about Voigtlander Heliar Ultra Wide-Angle 12mm f/5.6 Lens:
yes it vignettes and it is a little slow (f 5.6) but I knew both things when I bought it. I can clean up the vignetting in light room and I don't use it in situations where I need a faster lens. It's a lens that give me options for a creative departure when a more standard lens will just look......standard.
