The 58mm ND Fader Filter from Genus is unique in the world of neutral density filters. Other companies make you buy individual ND filters to meet your needs (i.e. 1-stop, 2-stop, etc.). Genus provides one filter that generates 2-8 stops of neutral density depending on how it is rotated.
In addition, the filter is indexed so you know exactly how many stops of neutral density you are getting. It screws on like any other filter and with a mere twist of the convenient rotating handle on the filter ring, you dial in your filtration. No need to constantly change filters - as the light changes, just dial in another grade of filtration.
Neutral Density filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film.

I've paired this with my Nikkor 50mm 1.8g and I am extremely happy with it. This filter allows me to control the light when I shoot in the 1.8-2.8 range.

Comments about Genustech 58mm ND (Neutral Density) Fader Filter:
I took this with me on a road trip and there was a nice lake with a bridge and this product was perfect once the shot was set up as the light changed I could just rotate the filter to adjust the shot no need to change filters or settings. Three things I noticed your lens cap wont fit unless you get a dedicated lens cap you will be taking this filter off every time you pack your camera away or you will buy a dedicated lens cap, also your lens hood will not fit over the filter and last was if you went too far past the range it works at which is easy to do the filter kind of creates darker and lighter patches it can be cool for different effects on the picture but not exactly desireable. regardless this goes with me everywhere

Comments about Genustech 58mm ND (Neutral Density) Fader Filter:
This is my first ND filter, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I found it easy to use, however it did cause a color shift and vignetting, though the amount varies depending on setting and incoming light (see sample images shot on the Min. setting and the Max. setting). I also noticed a lack of sharpness on zooms.

Comments about Genustech 58mm ND (Neutral Density) Fader Filter:
I use it to do experimental photography (long Exposure) in the day time
What is great about it : that is so easy to use, strong construction
what not so great about it : is that it needs more threaded grip on the lens.
