The Samsung HMX-U20 Camcorder (Silver) provides you with 1920 x 1080p high definition recording and 10MP still image capture. And whether you're capturing video or still images the U20 records to SD/SDHC memory cards. In addition to recording functions the camcorder also features an ergonomic design that lessens strain - from your wrist all the way to your back. This comfortable 7-degree shape allows for longer shooting and less fatigue.
The U20 has a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor at its heart that's helped along by 3x optical zoom, a 2" LCD display, and HDIS image stabilization. When it comes to sharing on the big screen the camera features a Component output for your HDTV and a Composite output for analog televisions. Animated Thumbnail, Time-Lapse Recording, and Intelli-Studio software all enhance your recording and sharing experience as well. Other important features include HMX-U20's compatibility with Windows and Mac, a built-in USB arm, and one touch upload to social networking sites.

I HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE FIGURING OUT HOW TO CONFIGURE THE CAMERS FOR TIME LAPS USE. I THINK THE MANUAL SHOULD BE MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT HOW TO CONFIGURE THE CAMERA FOR THAT OTHERWISE IT WORKS JUST AS ADVERTISED. AUDIO HA BEEN VERY GOOD WHICH SURPRISED ME

Understanding the limits of this camera...it's great. High quality picture, good audio. Negatives are expected with reduced quality in low light, lag time to start up and so-so menu controls. But for the price, it's a really handy device to have around.

I didn't realize when I bought this video camera that all it's software is designed for windows. I have a MAC so I don't get full use of the camera except on an old PC. The camera is otherwise very neat, small, well designed and easy to use.

Can shoot 1080i @30fpsI use 720 @ 30fpsI like the built in USB plug that can charge the battery. No charger to carry on a trip.Not good in low light. Very fast to transfer videos to PC. Great for documenting but the image quality isn't that of the discovery channel. Controls are some what logical although some things are awkward. I love it at [$]

The unit is easy to use following the quick start guide, however you will need to read the long operations guide to gain full use of the unit. The picture quality is fine with good lighting but not good in low light.

I bought this from B&H bacause it has digital stabilization which the Flip Mino does not. When I received it, I was very disappointed because when I zoom in/out, the microphone ceased to function. Then I realized that I had to turn off the zoom "mute" mode, which made this little machine a darling. The only things bad about this camcorder: its control function is too complicated compare to Flip Mino, also when pressing the buttoms, the camera is not as responsive as Flip Mino...but these are just very minor complains and I can live with them. In addition, Window Media Player does not support MP4 file, so you need to use different media player to see the video (but this is Bill Gates' fault). [...]
