Iogear 2-Port USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch
IOGEAR's 2-Port USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch enables two PCs and/ or Macs to easily share one USB printer, multi-function printer, or other USB device. This switch eliminates the need to plug and unplug devices between computers. Simply send the print job and the switch automatically makes the swap for you.
Automatic switch function is software based and only available with a USB printer or the printer function of a multi-function printer. For connecting and using other types of USB devices, you can switch by using the push-button on the USB switch or with the included software.

I bought this for a client of ours that we built two servers in a rack with 1 printer. This device made it very easy for us to have a manual button(desired) that switched between servers for the printer. Since it is used in such a secure way we were unable to go the workgroup or network route so this was the perfect solution. I will buy again.

This switch can be configured as manual or automatic. Appropriately plugging in the cables would give you a manual installation completed. A pair of lights on the switch indicates which computer is connected. Of course this configuration is solid and very reliable. Then when have some time to play with the computers,one can install the software on both computer to make switch to connect the printers automatically.

Since I don't have my Primera Bravo XR on the network and I couldn't afford getting the Primera Networking software, I wondered if this USB switch would be a way to share the Bravo XR between a Windows XP and a MacPro computer.
