Questions? Ask our experts:

The Pyle-Pro PAMP1000 160 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier is an affordable yet powerful and flexible stereo power amplifier that has both residential and commercial applications.

At home, you might use it in a custom installation as a second zone amplifier. With its 100 dB signal to noise ratio it can also hold its own as the sole amplifier in a den or bedroom audio system. Its rotary volume and balance controls add a touch of class and convenience.

In fact, the PAMP1000 can be used to switch between two separate speaker systems. For example, Zone A could be the kitchen and Zone B could be the patio. Simply switch from A to B as the action moves outdoors.

The system can also accept two different stereo sources. Source 1 could be your CD player while Source 2 could be your TV audio, so you can follow the game while you're grilling some steaks on the barbecue.

Binding post speaker terminals require no special jacks to plug in the speaker wire of your choice. Your PAMP1000 has a host of convenience features. You can select between 110 volt and 220 volt current and there's an unswitched (always on) AC outlet built-in to the amp. And the PAMP1000 has its own fuse to protect itself from overloads.

Finally, the PAMP1000 is bridgeable. If you don't know what that is you probably don't need it, but it comes in handy in many commercial establishments like sports bars and anywhere a powerful PA system is needed. Bridging allows you use both the left and right stereo outputs as a single monaural output with twice the power of the individual stereo channels. It's perfect when sheer audio power is more important than stereo output.

    Great amplifier.

    By Richard

Comments about Pyle Pro PAMP1000 160 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier:

I use this amp to power two home stereo speakers. It's powerful enough to give me plenty of volume with the two 92db/watt speakers I have. I leave mine on all the time and don't touch the buttons so can't speak to the durability of the switches. Have had it on full time for over a year with no problems. I find it doesn't switch inputs if I connect my audio into the second input instead of the first. And a piece of electrical tape blocks the annoyingly bright power light.

Comments about Pyle Pro PAMP1000 160 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier:

We were excited to find such a great price on this amp - had looked at it on a number of other sites before we found it on B & H. Unfortunately, as soon as we got it (delivery was fast and easy, thanks B & H!), however, we pushed down the speaker buttons (A & B) to turn on both sets of our speakers in different rooms, but they have never popped up again, so we are now stuck with listening to all speakers. Also, every time a new song is coming on, there is a few second delay, followed by strange clicking coming out of the amp. We're going to need to return this and get a new one. Although the sound quality that eventually comes out is good, this is completely disruptive to the listening experience. Upsetting because we were really excited about this amp!

Comments about Pyle Pro PAMP1000 160 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier:

Get it with one channel selector led inside de casing,I fix it. Line auto select too sensitive to static (switch all the time)and line 2 always switch ON and OFF between songs. Sound quality is decent for de price. Unit is NOT UL, CSA certified or any other certification, not very serious. Hope it will last for a few years.

Used to support a small kitchen/dining area TV and DVD setup. Drives 2 Energy CB-5 speakers and small subwoofer. Enough power but sound just congested and not acceptable for that minimum use. Should have returned it.
