The AV CS/SV to HDMI Up Converter increases image resolution by converting the standard definition analog composite or S-video signals to HDTV version 1.3 HDMI signals with 1080p resolution, 3D adaptive de-interlacing, and 8/10/12 bit deep color processing.
With an adapter cable included, the converter offers compliant DVI (Digital Video Interference) signals to maximize visual quality and can embed analog stereo audio signals into an HDMI datastream. The AV Toolbox Converter offers signal conditioning capabilities such as block noise reduction, 3D (frame-based) noise reduction, and MPEG noise reduction that help minimize grainy video noise.
An automatic lip sync restorer ensures that audio and video are synchronized during conversion; the converter also includes EDID automatic monitor resolution determination. The CS/SV to HDMI Up Converter has an AC to DC power adapter with a locking DC connector for enhanced security and is compliant with HDMI 1.3, DVI 1.0, and HDCP 1.1 specifications.

I had an old Bose Lifestyle unit with a built in DVD/CD player. New Samsung smart TV has HDMI and I wanted to connect the audio & S-video output of DVD's played to that connection. Everything went smoothly, except I forgot to set the input on the converter to S-video. When I did all worked fine.
It is a bit expensive, but it is easy to set up and works fine.

Im currently using two of these models to convert our cable television box and advertising content into an HDMI switcher that plays through 4 screens. These converters work great, they are easily adjustable, and they give a clean powered HDMI output. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in a good cross converter.

I used this on my JVC GY-DV500 s-video output. I then input to Intensity Pro for 1080i/59.94 capture with Media Express. Also works well in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, no need to buy new cameras.

I purchased a new 42" lcd 1080p flatscreen, I wanted to use my old Directv reciever on the new tv, I purchased the upconverter after talking to tech guy at both the manufacturer and your tech rep, they said it would help make the picture better. It helped some but not almost [$] better, maybe $50 better, oh well live and learn.
