I purchased the set & the receiver so I have one transmitter & two receivers. I'm a Nikon user and I'm triggering an SB600 and a used 285HV.

I haven't had that much opportunity to use this yet - I've maybe used it 3 or 4 times in "real world" situations and taken about a thousand frames with the flash units within 20 feet of me at all times and with no obstructions.

The receivers take a battery- I think it's a fairy standard battery you can get at any decent camera store, but it's not a AA or AAA, and I don't know if you can get rechargeable batteries easily... not that you should use rechargeable batteries, most lose their juice in a month or so just sitting around, so you're better off with store bought batteries. The transmitter doesn't seem to take a battery - I guess it draws its power from the hotshoe, so I always put the camera on full power when the transmitter is in the hotshoe - not sure if it needs it or if it helps, but that's what I do.

The bottom of the receiver is a screw mount, just like the bottom of your camera, so if your umbrella bracket is the type with the built in hot shoe, then you'll have to get a better umbrella bracket with "brass monkey" stud.

What can I say - it works. Out of about a thousand frames I think I got handful where the flash didn't seem to fire & that may have been because I was too fast on the shutter & the flash hadn't recycled yet.

When looking through the shutter, unlike with pre-flash you don't know if it went off or not - the flash goes off when the mirror is up so you don't see it go off unless you have your other eye open. I'm sure this is the same for all radio triggers & for any other non-pre-flash system, so if you're used to seeing the pre-flash signals through the viewfinder, you won't see them with this.

One thing I did notice was that the flash sync speed was no longer 1/250. At 1/250 a black shadow appeared at the top (or left in portrait orientation) of the frame on my Nikon D200. At first I thought it was a shadow on the wall from a poorly positioned umbrella, but I realized that it was a problem with the sync speed. I bumped my shutter down to 1/200 and the border went away. I guess there's some sort of delay introduced through the radio system & the tail end of the shutter isn't being picked up by the flash. This means that the system is less useful in bright (daylight) situations since your shutter speed is even more limited than usual.

Still, for a fraction of the price of a pocket wizard, I'd say it's a good deal. I got this receiver and the used 285HV for about a hundred bucks - knowing that I can add another off-camera flash to my system at any time for about a hundred bucks - two hundred if you add in a light stand, umbrella bracket & umbrella - is pretty amazing. The only problem then becomes - how do you carry all that gear around with you? (I'm in NYC and don't have a car.)

Comments about Interfit Strobies iSync 4 Wireless Receiver:

I started with one set (transmitter and receiver), and I purchased 2 additional receivers to expand my capabilities.

These little things are terrific! I have 2 TTL speedlights, an old Fujifilm flash from the 60's or 70's (full power only, no zoom, no other adjustments possible), and an LED video light (with flash strobe capability) that I can connect via a 3.5mm mono cable. I'm able to trigger all of these devices using several receivers and one transmitter. Of course, TTL is not possible, and I have to use all of my lights in full manual mode, but that has actually been a lot of fun and a great learning experience.

I have to say that, while I do enjoy these little triggers very much, my experience has not been 100% reliable... So, if you simply cannot risk missing a crucial shot, then you may want to go with one of the more expensive alternatives. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to incorporate wireless triggers into your home portrait set up, for example- and you don't mind setting your flash power manually- then these are really, really great!

Comments about Interfit Strobies iSync 4 Wireless Receiver:

I purchased this product mainly so I wouldn't have to use an off-the-camera cord to shoot flash and that I wouldn't have to use two cords for my two speedlites. For the money, it performs well in providing wireless flash abilities, and the flash has fired on every shot taken.

(Note: I have used them with an older Canon Speedlite, 199A, and it still triggers the flash)

One thing that wasn't so great is if your flash has an sleep mode function (or auto off), the receiver won't wake the flash up when it goes off and you are ready to use again. Minor inconvenience.

Comments about Interfit Strobies iSync 4 Wireless Receiver:

I purchased the Interfit Strobies to eliminate the PC cord to my key light for studio portrait work. I accidently pulled my camera off a table by tripping over the PC cord. That little inident cost me $225.00 to repari the lens.

The Strobies worked great in my first shoot; fired every time. I like the versatility of the receivers being triggered by signal or flash from another strobe. This feature provides the versatility to fire just about any other flash. The four channels allow multiple lighting configurations, or the all feature allows you to trigger all flashes. The configuration possibilities are only left to your imagination and the number of units.

All in all, this is great tool at a realy affordable price. One accident with a PC cord could pay for several strobies.

Comments about Interfit Strobies iSync 4 Wireless Receiver:

One reason I bought these inexpensive wireless triggers is because the receivers can be a stand for the flash or may be attached by the 1/4" threaded female on the bottom. Flexible. Have no problem with them while triggering shoe mount flashes but they seem to trigger randomly sometimes when used with my White Lightning monolights. Could be radio interference, could be monolights, who knows.

Comments about Interfit Strobies iSync 4 Wireless Receiver:
