The Chrosziel 401-421S Lightweight Support System allows video DSLRs such as the Canon 5D MkII, Canon 7D, and Nikon D3S to be outfitted with accessories in the same manner as a professional video camera. Using the 401-400 baseplate combined with two adjustable 15mm rods and a DSLR-specific top plate, a variety of accessories can be utilized, including mattebox, follow focus, and flags. An adjustable stopper is included on the top plate to keep the camera from twisting to one side or the other.

This is a well constructed and sturdy baseplate + mini rods.
The big draw here is the tiny piece of metal that prevents the camera from shifting once mounted. Unfortunately, this would need to be taken off if you want to attach a Zacuto Pro Viewfinder or Gorilla Baseplate.
I bought this to use in conjunction with RedRock Micro FF, Handles, etc because I liked the construction better than what RR offers, however, the cross compatibility between the two systems is not seamless, and will need adjusting (and purchasing of additional parts in order to work with another system).
