Comments about Audio-Technica Microphone Instrument Mount:

This is the third of these clips I've purchased for my sax. The first one lasted 8 years. The next about a year. The clips broke and can't be repaired with superglue or anything else. I tried using a different clip for a while before ordering this one. But it just didn't work as well. I wish they were more durable but a nice clip otherwise. Just don't drop them.

I also bought this to replace my Samson's broken mount. It seems to be equivalent to my original which broke at the hinge. The spring on this mount is also very strong for the clip making me think it too wiil break at the hinge like the original. B&H provides great service and prices, and this product is no exception. Don't know how long this will last, but its nice to know B&H carries this replacement.

Comments about Audio-Technica Microphone Instrument Mount:

This a good quality Mic mount, it would not scratch your instrument. I bought it for my brother's accordion, the clip on part is smooth, too bad his microphone was too big for it. I wish it would come with a self mounting device for attaching it to any instrument. Over all I think it's of good quality, and a great price.

I bought this to replace my Samson's broken mount. This feels sturdier and seems to be made slightly better. The sprung hinge also feels less weak. Get it as a backup!

Comments about Audio-Technica Microphone Instrument Mount:

Having already purchased an Audio-Technica AT831b for use on my guitar, I found that the included sound hole mount for that microphone worked well, but the sound was a little "muddy". I saw some acoustic guitar players were using mounts like the AT8418 to position the microphone just above the 12th fret. I was delighted to see that this mount would accommodate my AT831b, and the sound produced with it is much more accurate and "brighter", than it is when using the sound hole mount. The challenge though is finding a suitable place to clip it to the guitar.
