There isn't much to go on about this simple adapter, I mean it's just an adapter, but it does exactly what it says.
I was able to mount my mic+shock mount no problem with this adapter. It's really easy to use and set up.
It is all metal so I'm highly doubt it will break. It works with anything with proper threading, so pretty much any audio equipment and perhaps some lighting accessories too.

Put it on my 60d so I can hook up various mics. It does the job, but just to let you know, it will pick up the sound from you handling the camera. Unless you get a shock absorber to go with mic...
Otherwise does job well. Built prety solid. The tightning rings are a bit small and hard to adjust when the mic is on, but with a pair of needle nose pliers its ok.
Could be a little cheaper for a peice of metal though.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT8469 Camera Shoe Mount to 5/8-27" Threaded Base Adapter:
This adapter threads perfectly in my shotgun mike and mounts it solidly to the camera because of the metal construction and the two nuts to tighten the adapter against the camera and against the mounted device.
As others have said, the top knurled nut that tightens against the attached device (a shotgun mike in my case) can be a little hard to turn because it is short and has a small diameter.
Bottom line, the price is reasonable and it does the job well.

Simple design, and basic. Allows for mounting common microphones and mic mounting attachments to professional series camcorders. The main threaded shaft could be taller and could have a better lock-washer design. The unit swivels loose, thus loosens up too easily.

I'm glad someone makes this part, but it could be improved.
The arched shoe is great, holds more secure than a flat one. The construction is solid, maybe too solid if you are trying to keep things light weight.
My main complaint is that the tightening rings are too small. I use pliers to tighten and loosen this part since I can't get a good grip with my fingers.
If you need to put a mic on a shoe, get this part, but keep tools handy for securing and removing.

I needed an adapter in which to mount by shotgun mic holder to my DV camera. This is exactly what I needed. Good quality, though I wish the "nuts" were a little bigger--sometimes it's difficult to screw them with my fat fingers. I might just bring along a pair of needle nose pliers to help tighten them. Otherwise, this works very well for me and I'm glad I purchased it.

I bought this little gizmo because i needed a way to mount my Nady shotgun microphone to my camcorder, i am very pleased with this shoe mount adapter and love the fact that it is of metal construction so i know it will be around for many camcorders and microphones to come and still do what it's supposed to do without fail. Thanks B&H for great service and having this little accessory at the best price

This thing is perfect. It has a camera shoe mount to a regular mic clip thread. I can put the shock mount that came with my pro mics right on my camera. I also attach a "T" mount for a stereo pair of condensers. The thread is not too long and there isn't much extra protruding. There are screw down clamps to ensure it does not slide off or move.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT8469 Camera Shoe Mount to 5/8-27" Threaded Base Adapter:
I feel bad for having to give it 3 stars, since I don't think you can really do much better than this thing. But it's supposed to be small and to the point. [...] I got the shock mount on and tightened the first ring no problem, but then when I was putting it on the shoe mount, I must not have had that one ring tightened enough and undid it and the shockmount got crooked. then I had it too tight and it took two pliers to get it off. Then during my first gig with it, I didn't have the top ring tight enough, so I had to be careful when tightning the bottom ring to the shoe mount so it wouldn't undo the top one, but still be tight enough to hold it on.Whole thing fell out of the shoemount a couple times, top part became crooked.Just annoying. For the amount of use it'll see, I'll probably just use some locktight and cement glue to keep it one piece. I'd love a AT8469 that's on a shoemount.

I needed a mount for a duel setup light and Mic. I used this to fabricate a bracket. Worked great, well made.
The locking nut could have been a little larger, diameter wise, for locking it down to the shoe.

It's a great little shoe mount - doesn't wiggle like a previous shoe mount I once had. It's small and can be left on the camera without disrupting the rest of my gear in my camera bag. The threads are clean, and the tightening wheels are easy to turn.
