This housing is ideal for working in or near water close to the surface. The housing accommodates autofocus SLR cameras without shoe-mounted strobes, with maximum dimensions of 9 x 9 x 5" (228.6 x 228.6 x 127mm), with lenses that have a maximum filter thread of 82mm. Keep in mind only internal focus lenses can be used with this housing. The housing is shipped with an Ewa-Marine 82mm adapter to connect the camera's lens to the port. For smaller lenses a RA77-82 is also included.

Comments about Ewa-Marine U-BF100 Underwater Housing:

I read many reviews on this product before purchasing it. I did not want to spend more than 2k on a better one just to use a few times. Here are my details in random order:
Swimming pool. This was a 1st time trial with my best friend to prepare for a fashion shoot next week. Canon mark ii 5d w/battery grip. I had to remove the battery grip to fit it in the housing. You can put the battery grip back on after you get the camera in the housing. 24-105 f/4...this is the only lens I own that would have fit in the housing AND used the adapter rings that come with it - these rings keep the lens glass flush with the housing glass. You must wear goggles to see what you are doing - duh! At first, it was very difficult to stay still underwater because the little bit of air in the housing surprisingly makes the camera float with a force that makes you fight it down. Next time, I will have a weight for the camera and possibly myself. I was manually focusing and the camera did a pretty good job doing that. The adapter rings made a vignette on one edge of the photo that I did not want, so I shot very wide so I could crop. This half-vignette could have actually been the outside ring of the housing, so maybe I should have slowed down to readjust the lens position. I did not do much zooming. It was difficult, but possible to change camera settings. I purchased this for an underwater fashion shoot in a pool. If you are looking for the least expensive means to get your nice dslr underwater and take pictures, this is it. It is scary at first and cumbersome, but it works.

Comments about Ewa-Marine U-BF100 Underwater Housing:

Saw this product advertised in photo journal and though it would be good for working with pro camera above and slightly below surface of water. However, 1) instructions provided did not match product, 2) attachment ring (82 mm) friction fits into glass lens port so that when camera/housing taken just below surface of water, glass port pops off and vignetting occurs. Need to remember to keep pressure on outer port housing so this doesn't happen!
Otherwise works nicely in keeping water from camera. Limited range of lenses that can be used with pro camera (D3)- 24-70 lens doesn't fit. Can use 50 mm and smaller and likely can use anything shorter than the 24-70mm zoom.
