The Kata D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Gray) is a stylish, functional lightweight, protective backpack which is designed to carry camera gear and everyday personal effects, and can easily convert into a simple and useful daypack when not using or carrying a camera. The pack is made from lightweight, durable Ripstop nylon and polyester mesh exterior with TST rib structure that provides protective zones for the camera where it will most likely be impacted by shock, vibration plus Aeriform foam that is made of perforated super light laminated and reinforced EVA and EPE foams. The Yelloop interior is a bright yellow material for viewing the contents with ease and attaching any optional Modi-Vers dividers.

The D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack is designed with a double compartment concept; the lower compartment has a special padded camera insert and Aeriform dividers to fit a D-SLR with standard lens attached, 2-3 lenses (up to a 70-200 f/2.8 not attached), flash and accessories. In the upper compartment there is plenty of space for personal effects. When needed the camera insert can be removed and the zippered partition between the two compartments opened to create one large storage space. A rear laptop slot will hold most laptop computers with a screen up to 15.4". A variety of external pockets will store accessories and personal gear that need rapid access such as, wallet, phone, water bottle etc. The pack has tripod connecting straps that can be attached to the side of the backpack and a detachable rain cover for protection in rough weather conditions.

The D-Light Bumblebee harness system has a 3D soft molded foam back for comfort and ventilation, an Aeriform foam padded harness which is uniquely shaped to provide comfort and non-slip grip, an adjustable sternum strap and a stabilizing waist strap. There are 2 specially designed connection loops for the Reflex E camera strap that is used to carry the D-SLR camera comfortably and take the camera load off the neck. The EPH (Ergonomic Photo System) is designed with connection tabs to enable interconnections with other Kata products. There is an Insertrolley connection that is used to place the pack over a rolling bag handle, when this is in use the harness simply tucks out of the way.

PRO: lightweightCONS: In my opinion, Kata missed the mark on this one. The compartment design is not well though out, and leaves little opportunity for reconfiguration. I ordered this for traveling to Europe, thinking it would be good to have extra space. It was always a challenge to figure out how to fit my stuff in it. I would have returned it[...]Now it sits on my shelf in my studio.

Comments about D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Black):

I purchased the bag to carry my Nikon D90, a 18-200 zoom Nikor lens, a Nikor Coolpix, and a Dell 15 inch laptop which will not fit if I have a cover on the laptop. The yellow interior helps in locating things in the bag for low-light conditions which is exactly why I purchased it. The zippers can not be locked together and no owner information card, manual, or registration was included. I emailed Kata but never heard back. I could get along without a owners manual except for the fact that the bag has more straps than a 10 passanger race car would have and I like doing things correctly.

Lightweight and looks good, but the zippers didn't seem robust enough and the openings felt too small. In particular, the camera area flap opens up and kept flapping down.

This is a very nicely built bag with plenty of room for camera and lenses and other equipment. I have a D5200 and three lenses and there is room for at least two more lenses. I was looking to buy a laptop/dslr backpack and opted for this one, I was not disappointed.

Its comfortable to wear and provides ample protection for the equipment. I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for combination laptop/dslr bag.

Comments about D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Gray):

I got this for travel, as I wanted something lightweight for carry on, but still have a general purpose section for travelling with. For that, it fit purpose pretty well.I was able to fit a pretty extensive m43kit in bottom section (couple of bodies, flash, triggers and various lenses) and still have top section free. However, the top section seems to fill up much quicker than expected, though, I guess no real surprise as half a backpack.Only 4 stars for 3 reasons:1) I still think I would have preferred general section on bottom so when you place bag down, your expensive camera gear is absorbing less of the shock.2) There is no real way to lock the zips. I realise this would be a 'gentleman's lock' at best, but would still be good for peace of mind when leaving behind in hotel or taking a nap on plane.3) The pouch to hold bottom of tripod seems way too tight to actually fit a tripod base in.One other thing that brought me to Kata backpacks was they have a strap on back so you can slide them over your luggage handle. However, with my particular suitcase, I found bag was as tall as handle so wasn't easy to hold handle with bag attached. Just something to be aware if you plan to use this way.Final note, the grey appears darker than pictured and is much more attractive in real life (IMHO)

Love Kata bags, but this one was too small for me. I also felt like the day pack was too big comparative to photo compartment. Wish it was other way around.
              I ended up returning it

I ordered this backpack right before a trip to Costa Rica. I was interested in something that was light-weight, had compartments for both camera and laptop, as well as extra room for other items. I was really pleased! It is comfortable to wear, and has plenty of room, even for its lightweight! So far, its also held up really well.

I bought this bag to be somewhere in between my National Geographic bag & my shoulder bag. It fits the job just about perfectly. It's comfortable & with the addition of a bungee tie, holds one compact light stand on the outside comfortably. The lower compartment opens to your gear with the usual velcro compartments, the upper compartments are more "open" for your other miscellaneous stuff. If I have one complaint it's that the lower compartments feel a bit "squished" at times & I think my newer (less durable) plastic lenses have some weight against them during travel & may eventually become damaged. I should probably either stuff it less full of gear or shuffle the lenses around so the cheap plastic ones aren't on the bottom.I would buy it again & would recommend it to a friend.

Comments about D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Black):

The bag looked great, well made. I ordered it so I can take with me my camera and some lenses and a laptop. To my surprise i could only fit my Nikon 70-200 in the bottom of the bag if the lens was horizontal and after that I didn't have enough room to put my full frame camera with attached normal lens. The top part of the bag is bigger then bottom and would nicely fit a lot of personal stuff. Unfortunately I had to return the bag because I couldn't even fit a camera body and 2 lenses. I didn't buy the bag with the intention to have all my gear in it but to have a nice backpack when I have to carry with me some equipment and extra clothes and some snacks. If you carry with you smaller lenses then this bag is great. I have couple other Kata bags and I love them.

Bought it, took it out into the field the next day and it was very useful to have the space to take my laptop without the need for a second bag. It has a good number of compartments and the rain cover is a nice addition. Fits my D7000 plus three lens, cables and some other junk all in the camera compartment on the bottom.
Straps and back padding are comfortable and the pack fit just right.

I use this bag to carry 1 DSLR, 2 Lenses (50mm, 18-135), MicroPro Lite, Tascam DR-40 audio recorder, 3 Canon Batteries. Can be heavy when fully packed but still comfortable.

I like it, it has lots of space to put your stuff, but after a while the straps are uncomfortable. I would have liked it to have more small spaces within the compartments to accomodate accesories.

You can not access your equipment fast.

Comments about D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Gray):

This is a great daypack if you don't need to bring all your gear and want room for lunch/books etc. The camera compartment can be configured lots of different ways, I can fit a 5D2 in there w/ 24-105 attached as well as a 300f/4 OR camera and a few primes, it really holds a lot!
The top is great for wallet/lunch/flash etc. and I'm using the laptop part to fit books and notepad when going to school. It really is very versatile in how you can pack it and the quantity it can hold. It is still comfortable after wearing it for several hours. One of the negative things I read in reviews before buying was 'hard to access gear', which is true compared to a messenger bag, but I take the camera out and then it stays out, so not a big deal for me.
