I purchsed 2 of these Truss Bars for our youth room and couldn't be happier. I actually took and suspended the bars from the ceiling using an 1 1/4" floor flange and threaded nipple. Then drilled a hole and put a bolt through the mounting bracket (comes with the Truss Bar) and threaded nipple. The design is sleek and works perfectly to hold our lights while at the same time keeping them out of the way.
*BONUS* The Truss Bar comes with mounting hardware for 4 lights as well as the mounting bracket to install onto a stand (or to suspend from a ceiling if you use a little engineering)!
The only thing I would change is that while the bar is metal, the mounting bracket is plastic. It seems heavy duty and durable and I don't think I will have any problems. But just a point for your consideration...
