Comments about RPS Lighting RS-RT09/N10 2-in-1 Wireless Remote:

This remote shutter release works exactly as it is supposed to: eliminates the camera shake from pressing the shutter release button by hand. Also good when you are taking many shots in a row - like for lightning pictures: much more comfortable than trying to constantly hold your hand on the camera shutter release. Same thing for long exposures - much easier and it eliminates camera shake. And if you want wildlife pictures - especially for birds - you can set the camera up and then you can be out of the area and still take the pictures.

Be careful in lining up the pins on the connection to the camera - it doesn't line up as well with the white dot as it should. Biggest problem is that the mount for attaching the receiver to the camera leaves part of the receiver hanging out over the viewfinder which is extremely awkward if you are trying to line up different angles between shots. I wind up letting it hang by its cable which is going to eventually wear the cable out.

Otherwise an excellent piece of equipment. I also suggest that you remove the battery from the transmitter when not in use - no on/off switch like there is on the receiver.

Comments about RPS Lighting RS-RT09/N10 2-in-1 Wireless Remote:

Albeit of flimsy construction, this unit was useful and a lot of fun (low-light photos, taking group shots, and the like) until the receiver just stopped working (about 1.5 years after purchasing it). I emailed the manufacturer's customer support a number of times, but got absolutely NO response! Will likely never buy from this manufacturer again.

Works well with my Nikon D200. Just a minor point, battery compartment cover difficult to slide off, and there seems to be no indication as to which way the batteries go in. But this is not difficult to figure out. I would recommend this product for anyone looking to remotely fire their DLSR.

It does what it is suppoesd to do. Looks like good construction. The reciever uses AA batteries which is a plus. Appears to have good range.

Comments about RPS Lighting RS-RT09/N10 2-in-1 Wireless Remote:

This remote works as advertised and for the price, can't be beat. In a world where devices and connections change with every new digital SLR body that is developed,it is difficult to justify using certain Nikon accessories at the prices they command--these off-brand devices fit-the-bill and are great for the money, especially for the casual user. I use this remote on my D-200, for long exposures, macros, and/or when I need my hands free to hold strobes. I did have some issues with the bulb setting, as I kept the button depressed but could only get a 20 second exposure before there must have been a slight disruption with the radio signal. For longer exposures, i.e., night photography, one might consider a programmable remote. The durability of this remote is obviously less than that of a Nikon brand, but for the fraction of price this remote commands, it is to be expected and is worth the purchase price. I would recommend this product to others and will likely purchase this brand of product in the future.

Comments about RPS Lighting RS-RT09/N10 2-in-1 Wireless Remote:

Works well with my D200. The 10 pin connection is easy to insert and has the additional screwed secure connector. Both the wired and wireless remote functions work well, however the wired trigger cord would be a little short for most hand held applications. The two step focus/ready and shutter fire functions work well both wired and remote. It was a little hard to close the AA battery door on the receiver, as the Rayovac Industrial batteries that I used were a tad long. A new 23A battery is included in the package for the transmitter. It's light weight plastic construction, but very functional. I would have rated it a 5 star if it had been industrial grade; but then it would have cost a lot more. Overall, I'm very pleased. Don't forget and leave the batteries in it, or they may corrode (plug here for Duracell which have never ruined any of my equipment).
