The Hercules DJ Console MK4 is a lightweight, easy to use, dual deck controller for DJ software. The DJ Console MK4 delivers flexibility, professional control, and portability at a cost effective price. The controller features two large jog-shuttle wheels for cuing digital audio tracks, and a host of assignable controllers.
There are two sets of outputs on the rear panel and RCA phono inputs for connecting turntables, CD decks and MP3 players. The unit is USB powered and made for easy transport. The included transport cover and shoulder strap, make it an easy mobile solution for DJs on-the-go. The DJ Console MK4 may be used to control Mac and Windows based DJ software, and a copy of Virtual DJ is included.

As a matter of fact this device is Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 but with the built in audio and new design. Clearly that this device is created for beginners, but it's not simply [*], and I like Hercules products for it. And then, they have an experience in creation of devices for a computer sound. The console is made of plastic, but in this case I don't think that it's bad. The device is portable and easy, and to be located in any backpack together with the laptop.It's MIDI device so you can use it with any DJ program. Other question that the manufacturer can facilitate to you a device installation, in advance having created a configuration file for controllers under defined DJ program. It will save to you some hours or days for reassignment of functions of buttons and knobs. And so, directly from a box device supports Virtual DJ and Tractor Pro (version 1.24 and above). With the first I never worked, so have downloaded from a website a file *tsi for Traktor Pro. MK4 is a new model, therefore Hercules doesn't support its job with old versions of Traktor (Traktor DJ Studio 2 and 3). If that is necessary for you the device should be adjusted independently. As always, Hercules do not have problems with drivers so the device supports Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) unlike some serious DJ controllers. All basic functions work as it is necessary. Let you are not confused with small quantity of controllers on the console. Many of them carry out on some functions in a combination among themselves. All works simply enough and intuitively. I after 4 days of practice did not require a map of controllers any more. Only sometimes I spy. There are no regulators for effects a little. By the way, all buttons have a blue illumination. I have been pleasantly surprised by quality of jogs. They have appeared sensitive and smooth. It is possible to scratch on them. So the MK4 is much better in it than popular inexpensive Behringer BCD-3000.The built in audio sounds well for me, anyway I do not hear distortions. Analogue inputs allows to record vinyl perfectly. As a result, as well as always, this DJ controller will not make a mix itself for you, but this is successful tool in your hands and mind. You can receive on it a professional sound and nice transitions between tracks, it is necessary only to try a little. Certainly, if you are going to play in clubs it is necessary to get more expensive professional model. At first, to look authoritative, and at the second to have more possibilities for connection with other equipment. Besides, professional models can control more than 2 decks in DJ program, have more allocated keys for functions, level indicators, lcd screens, faders… And a jogs more similar to vinyl turntables. Make the decision at once it is necessary to you or not, but consider that the price will be professional too.

I'm a semi-pro d.j. and I had hard times configuring this console on computers. It doesn't work everytime and it is quite sensitive if you touch the console or the wire while using it. It could stop working while playing music in a party and you would have to reboot the computer to make it work again.
It's a good toy if you want to mix music in your basement but it's not reliable enough to use it as a d.j. in a party.

It could stop working while playing music in a party and you would have to reboot the computer to make it work again.

I'm sorry I got this controller thinking it would work like it saids in the add forget it . this thing is useless I sent it back to B&H the very next day . DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
