The Interfit Collapsible Translucent Reflector (32") is a round light modifier used to reduce contrast by filtering the light striking the subject.     A photographer that I really respect was explaining to me how he achieved the beautiful lighting in his shots from the Middle East. I was amazed when he told me he simply had a friend hold his off camera strobe and send it through this inexpensive "shoot-through." I'm eager to practice this technique. Of course I can also use it in portraits to mute the harsh sunlight.
