The BlackMagic Design Micro Videohub is a compact (1U) broadcast grade routing switcher that is suitable for small locations such as outdoor broadcast trucks. Switching and routing can be controlled via a single computer thereby eliminating the use of complicated manual patching that wears out cables and results in video glitches. Its installation under different television production equipment like editing systems, decks, and monitors results in fast routing.
Re-clocking compensates for lost signals and enables easier signal decoding, providing better video output. It has an auto standard detection for SD, HD, and 3Gb/s HD-SDI signals, and an auto-switching feature for instant switching between HD and SD video formats depending on the input signal. In case of a power outage, the Power Fail Protection feature preserves and restores the router connection independent of the host computer. It supports 16 x 16 SDI routing and simultaneous routing of 2K, HD, SD video, and DVB-ASI signals.
The Videohub features software control panels with push button routing that is ideal for video editors and designers who work on computers and prefer easy desktop control. It also has USB and serial router control interfaces and can be used with touch screen computers as a customized router controller with icon buttons. The built-in USB 2.0 interface offers data transmissions at speeds up to 480Mb/s. The standard serial port adheres to industry standard protocols and connects system integrators to computers; enabling automated routing control and integration into broadcast play out servers.
