The Oben AT-3420 Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head is a sturdy yet lightweight tripod with legs that fold upward 180° to create an extremely compact package for transport – with the included head attached, folded length is only 18.8". For further versatility for travelers, one of the legs unscrews from the chassis and attaches to the head & center column to form a working-height monopod. With a system load capacity of 11 lb, the full-sized tripod and head ensure a stable base for any DSLR body/lens combination or for a compact HD video camera.
With the four leg sections and the center column extended, the maximum height of the AT-3420 with the BA-0T head is 67.3". The legs are non-rotating, which enables single-handed operation of all three rubber twist locks on each leg: One twist of the wrist, and the three leg stages descend. The three legs are independently adjustable, and they can be locked securely at two different angles. The tripod's feet feature tips that can be converted from rubber tips to spikes, allowing you to shoot both indoors and outdoors on any terrain.
To shoot in monopod mode, simply unscrew the leg that forms the base of the monopod, remove the center column from the chassis, and screw these two elements together. With the head & center column mounted on the extended leg, you have a full size monopod that's even taller than the tripod at full height.
Like the legs, the center column features a twist lock that frees up its extension and retraction. For protection when it's retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper that protects the center-post collar. At the bottom of the center column is a spring-loaded, detachable hook that allows you to attach a counterweight for extra stability in windy conditions. The hook doubles as a stopper for the center column, which can be removed and reversed for low-angle shooting.
The BA-0T head's single-action knob allows you to unlock all axes of movement in one fell swoop, so you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. This enables fast setup changes, and frees you to keep a finger on the shot trigger while you're making a quick adjustment to the head's orientation. The head pans a full 360°, with accurate markings all around. The BA-0T head tilts a full 90° in one direction, which facilitates shooting in portrait orientation. Bubble levels at four points on the head ensure that the camera is level whether it's oriented for landscapes or tilted 90°.
The included quick-release plate attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. A retractable, removable video pin provides additional stability for camcorders. The quick-release plate easily snaps and locks into place on the BA-0T head. The safety lock on the quick-release mechanism prevents the camera from loosening inadvertently. The head supports loads up to 11 lb.
The AT-3420 Aluminum Tripod with BA-0T Ball Head also includes a fitted, padded carry case with a shoulder strap, two heavy-duty zippers, and an interior zipper pocket.

Comments about Oben AT-3420 4-Section Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head:
Having this tripod for only a couple of week but so far I realy like it. Taller of expected. Easy to use. Look to be strong build. So far I love it.
The bag can fit The tripod with the unattached head ball, and you can still fit the head ball in a bag.

Comments about Oben AT-3420 4-Section Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head:
It is a really solid aluminum tripod and monopod but a bit of heavy, and stiff on the arm point to fold. The ball head that comes with it is really good and easy to detach or reattach. So far I don't have any problem yet. I don't have much of chance to use it, so can't really give much of comment.

Comments about Oben AT-3420 4-Section Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head:
I use this for landscape/night shots extensively, and this is a great tripod for what I paid. Easy to set up in any sort of terrain, and has great stability. Had a microburst come through the area when I was shooting some timelapse with the camera on the roof of a building; tripod stayed steady while the camera clicked away....great product.

Comments about Oben AT-3420 4-Section Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head:
I needed an affordable tripod that doubled as a Monopod. At first I thought that by having this extra feature would sacrifice the functionality or quality build of the tripod. But once I got the tripod, I have no regrets, this thing is sturdy and I trust my camera attached to it. Whether it's on all three or just one leg, I trust my oben as my travel/hiking tripod.

Comments about Oben AT-3420 4-Section Aluminum Folding Tripod w/ BA-0T Ball Head:
I was a little conflicted between this model and the carbon fiber version for a lot more i decided for the aluminum version and am not disappointed its a scant 4.2 pounds and solid as a rock
I ordered this tripod for its height and ability to become a monopod and the ball head.
its built strong yet fairly light weight all the controls are easily accessible and do not make tightening or loosening an issue at all.
you can't go wrong in windy situations either with it's built in counter-weight hook to help stabilize the tripod.
it can do very low angle modes for macro or just unique angle shots.
I highly recommend this tripod to anyone looking to upgrade or get their first tripod.
