The Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is the perfect topper for a miniature or table-top tripod model. Constructed of aluminum, the BD-0 functions like most full-sized ball heads but features a supremely low-profile design. A single-action lever loosens the ball and allows it to move freely in all directions, and in addition, a groove allows it to tilt 90° in one direction.
The BD-0 head can serve as a replacement head for an Oben TT-100, TT-200, or TT-300 table-top tripod. Or it can allow you to properly orient your camera on any other tripod model, whether it has a 1/4"-20 or a 3/8"-16 stud – the head has a 3/8" thread and comes with a reducer bushing to make it compatible with the 1/4"-type stud.

I purchased two of these for an in-car camera support I built for time lapse video. It looked spec-wise
(holds 6 lbs.) like it should hold my Nikon D800 or my Sony cam. It turned out that the ball head lock is way to weak for anything full size. I would not put anything bigger than a "small" point-n-shoot on this. I wound up returning these and purchasing Manfrotto 492's for 3.5 times more. A bigger OBEN might have worked as well but I already have good experiance with Manfrotto products and knew that they would be great albeit a little expensive.

Comments about Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head:
I use this head in a camera rig for specialized photography. It says it's strong enough to hold a fairly heavy camera, but one of mine (I use two at the same time with different cameras) has a hard time holding the camera up. I think it would work great for pocket point-and-shoots, but not for DSLRs (not even Micro 4/3 cameras).

I am using this BD-O Mini Ball Head by Oben to mount a Kestrel wind vane. It stands up to strong winds and easily keeps the vane level so that accurate measurements are taken.

I bought this in a kit with the Megagrip tripod (on sale for the same cost as the tripod alone). I didn't expect much, but this tiny ball head is perfect for this tripod and works surprisingly well. Sturdy and well-made.

This is the ticket for using the Joby style tripods with flash. I love the functionality of the "stick-on" lightstand by using the Joby style flexible tripods for off camera flash. However, getting the most secure spot for the legs to stick onto something, requires a third degree of freedom to swivel the flash attachments. This ballhead functions well even with a Pocket-wizards remote and attached Canon 580 EXii flash. This is a small movable head, my DSLRs will not be used with this head. This also works well with flexible tripods for the GoPro and similar small video cameras as well. Lots of good uses for a small lightweight ballhead. This might show up as a stocking-stuffer during my holiday shopping...

A good little ball head for flashes and audio recorders. Well built and holds tight. For mounting on a flat surface, I got some ½" round black nylon spacers to put between it and the surface so my fingers could grip the knob easier.

I'm really impressed with this little ball head.I created my own Justin clamps by using this with a Manfrotto 175 clamp and a Stroboframe general purpose flash shoes. It's an excellent value and seems sturdy enough to hold a lot more than a flash.

Comments about Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head:
I purchased the BD-0 Mini Ball Head to use with the Oben ACM-1400 monopod. It is small and easy to carry and serves the purpose. It works well with the monpod which can be moved to make final adjustments. The small size makes it a bit awkward to adjust, and the adjusting knob is too close to the monpod base plate to be used easily. However the plate can be easily removed, alleviating this problem.
