We bought this product to use with our green screen during filming our morning announcements for our church. This is super light weight and very portable. I am able to set this stand up in less then 2 minutes and it is super easy to adjust. I love the carry bag that it comes in, it's very easy to load and unload the stand and to put into storage when not in use. the bag is great. This stand is much better then others that I have tried with my photography. The only negative in my book is that it didn't come with wing nuts to screw into place once the cross beam it put into place. Other then that this stand is PERFECT!

This product is a good idea but two defects made it more annoying than useful. It's easy to use and lightweight. I use it for travel and the included travel bag with easy handle makes carrying it easy. But two different quirks annoy me. One one side the top extender is stuck and on the other you have to tweek the knob at the bottom a certain way to get the leg to extend. It still works but for the price it should be better made. I would have returned it (for a replacement) but what a hassle!

One of the stands broke on the first day I used them on a shoot. The quality is low but for around $50 what do you expect. The speed rail that breaks down into pieces is useful.

This product is great for travel and putting up the backdrops. I like how it folds right up. The bars up top do start to sag with not very much weight.

Comments about Backdrop Alley Background Studio Stand:
Just received this product and put it together with a background for photo shoot and when I tried to disassemble it, I was unable to pull the cross bars apart!! Two are stuck together, every man and woman I know has tried to release two of the bars and it's impossible, it won't budge. And I used it only once. This is a terrible product, the ends that thread into each other are cheap and that's where the problem lies. Do yourself a favor and get something else.

Comments about Backdrop Alley Background Studio Stand:
I was so pleased the first time I set up this backdrop stand. It was much sturdier than I expected, but still light enough for me to easily travel with. Most everything is metal with the exception of a few plastic pieces. I highly recommend this for new photographers or photographers who do not have dedicated studio space.
Only con; I found it to be less sturdy when expanded to it's full width. I don't anticipate using it often like this, so it isn't a large concern for me.

Comments about Backdrop Alley Background Studio Stand:
I wasn't sure about this product at first, but I really like it! The bag was great, but seeing all the pieces separated made it look like it might be flimsy. Putting it together is pretty obvious and easy. And it was definitely sturdy enough! I love how you can change the length as needed with the 4 bars. I only use 2, but it's nice to know I have that extra length for the future. I use it with Savage's Widetone Seamless 53" Background Paper. Perfect match. It's a little awkward putting the paper on the bar and I imagine that if you used the longer rolls (like the 107"), that it would be better to have two people putting things together.

The studio stands by Backdrop Alley are outstanding. They assemble easily and adjust easily once you have your backdrop attached. The fold down to a compact state and are very easy to transport to remote locations. I highly recommend this product. It is every bit as good a the top quality brands such as Manfrotto.

Comments about Backdrop Alley Background Studio Stand:
Was using a clothes rack before getting this, and needed a REAL stand. Weight is an issue for me, and this is light enough for me to carry and/or move easily. Set up was very fast and easy. Can't imagine ever needing all 4 cross poles, as 2 was plenty enough for my drops. The only thing I could ask for is another 2 piece pole with holes to be able to add another pole on top of this one!

Comments about Backdrop Alley Background Studio Stand:
I am a professional photographer; I purchased this stand and case as a cheap, lightweight backup option.
In six months I have used it five times, hanging a lightweight cloth backdrop from it.
The first time I used it, the case's strap tore from the case (literally). Soon after, holes developed where the stand components rubbed the case.
On the fourth set-up, one of the tripods' telescoping rods jammed, and took considerable effort and tools to release. It seems to have become slightly bent in typical use.
I have contacted the company. I do not recommend this option. It is unfortunate that there are not more cheap options available for these stands.
