The keyboard is great! the design is really comfortable. the keys are rounded at the edges and have a nice low profile. they also get higher towards the numbers on top for easy reach.
setting it up, took a few minutes for the CD to download the program but it was good afterwards. Love the wireless part about it.

There are so many buttons and settings you can mess around with and customize but I just haven't had the time to do that yet, maybe soon, maybe not.

Unfortunatly they aren't as quiet as I wished but still much better than my old keyboard.

the mouse I dont like, there are two buttons on the side of the main right/left click, I keep clicking them by accident and it messes up where I'm at. Although I know you can go in the settings and customize what they are suppose to do but they will still be clicked by accident because where they are placed. I just think its uncomfortable and poorly designed.

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000:

I bought this to help alleviate some of the wrist soreness and tension from typing and photo editing, so this has been a big help.
I do kind of wish it had the same width as, say, the Comfort 3000 model, but that's really the only downside.
Also, the optional side support buttons on the bottom of the keyboard really helped me. I found out that my wrists and hands hurt way less if the keybaord is tilted nose down, oddly enough, so the switchable buttons helped a ton.
Nice soft keys but sturdy enough for all day use.
I'm coupling this with a sit/stand workstation to really help with my ergonomics.
the mouse is also great, fits my hand nicely and doesn't cause any strain.
      Compatible with Mac OS X!

I needed a periphial upgrade for my pc - and decided to go wireless.

After reviewing some keyboard and mouse sets at B&H (in-house), I did my homework and came up with the Desktop 5000 by Microsoft.

It was easy to set-up and is very quiet too.

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000:

Just the right blend of features, functions and feel! I've used keyboards from the other big maker of computer peripherals of various shapes and prices. I didn't want a cheap, under-featured minimalist keyboard and mouse that had just the basics, but I also didn't want to go overboard with a high end, padded monstrosity that's like a huge Swiss Army Knife. This keyboard and mouse hits the sweet spot. The 5000 Comfort Keyboard has just enough curve to accommodate touch typing without going overboard like those split models. The Function keys are mapped to new Windows functions, but there's an F-Lock key to lock them back to their traditional functions if that's what you're used to (which is what I like). Fear not - there is a complete row of programmable keys across the top that are easy to set to whatever you want to think up - launch a program or task easily. But the main thing I like is the feel, which is perfect if you do fairly heavy typing (I use it primarily for coding and correspondence, along with systems administration so I type a lot.)

The mouse is sized just right for a desktop setup and comfortably shaped. It has the standard left and right buttons and wheel for clicking and scrolling, plus you can skew the wheel to left or right to scroll sideways where appropriate. If you are an avid webhead, the back button is conveniently positioned under your thumb and forward is under your ring finger. All of this is independently programmable if you mouse left-handed or have different preferences.
The RF unit has plenty of range, unlike Microsoft's earlier radios (the hockey puck on the end of the USB cable). The new radio is hard-coded to the peripherals - there is no sync button on the keyboard or mouse. Downside, the radio is still the size of a small USB stick. I'd really like to see one of the smaller Chiclet-sized RF units, but this one is not obtrusive.

I searched for this specific wireless desktop to replace my failing keyboard at home after using one at work for the last year, and B&H had the best price on the Internet plus free shipping.

I bought this keyboard because I bought a large monitor for my laptop and wanted a more ergonomic keyboard and a mouse so I can have my laptop tucked away. This was a breeze to set up, works like a charm. I like the ergonomic design - wanted something that might be easier on my shoulders/arms. Mouse is a nice size/nice high arch. Keyboard is slightly louder than on my laptop.

The keyboard is a dream to use there is a lumbar bar at the bottom and the keys are easy to work with.
The mouse is ergonomic and the feature buttons are very helpful. I think you would enjoy this item.
