The Shoe Mount for Microphone Holder replaces the plastic Sony microphone holder which tends to break very easily and passes through noise. This mount uses the same two screws and screw holes which are used to attach the original Sony microphone holder. Now you can mount a much higher quality microphone holder with far superior isolation to make all those camera handling noises a thing of the past.

I bought several of these to replace the factory(terrible) Sony PMW-EX3 mic mounts that always break. I have tried a few others shoe mounts similar to this product, but they always fell short on quality and fit...Not so with this mount! This plate is well made and fits perfectly...Adaptimax even made recessed holes for the factory alignment studs. Best of all, it doesn't transfer noise like the factory mic mount. They also included new stainless steel screws to replace the short and apt to strip thread screws that come with the camera. The price is right and the quality can't be beat...don't hesitate to buy this product...you will be pleased, I promise!

After breaking the flimsy mic holder in my EX3 I found this item and wonder: Why is Sony not puting this item as an original? Really nice to find parts that fit exactly into my camera without the need to do any adaptations. Thank you Adaptimax.

This should be bought by Sony and used for all their future cameras. No need for the cheap plastic garbage mic holder on the EX. I've gone through three and at [$] a shot it's been expensive. Makes the mic easy to get o and off, when on a shock mount holder. Buying another one as I write this review. Sony please listen replace your mic holders.

In many ways the shoe on Sony's EX1 is useless for holding a mic - there is just too much stress from the mic when the camera is moved. The built-in mic holder is just as useless. I took mine off long ago. This little piece of aluminum perfectly provides a solid platform for mic, wireless receiver, etc.

This is my new favorite accessory for the Sony Ex1. I've gone through countless sony stock mic holders for the Ex1 and I couldn't justify spending more money on another expensive piece of plastic from Sony. I read some reviews and bought the Adaptimax Shoe Mount and I love it. It's easy to install. Works with the screws that come with the Ex1. No other drilling or modifications necessary. Highly recommend!
